Little known Frank Taylor stars

"The Girl in the Glacier" has a preposterous though interesting idea, that a naked woman could be frozen in time for thousands of years, yet could seemingly return to life once her tomb thaws. Dr. Ben Seastrom (Frank Taylor) discovers the girl's perfectly preserved beauty while digging in a mine shaft, transporting her to the museum where she can be studied more closely. Instantly smitten with his unusual find, which he dubs Angelica (Sara Harts), he becomes obsessed to the point where he objects to anyone else examining her, particularly Dr. Olsen (Len Melin). There's no turning back once Seastrom murders his rival, but the anticlimactic ending is yet another disappointment for an underwhelming series. An early credit for Frank Taylor, a busy if little known actor working mainly in Australia, while Jason Lindsey would be seen in two other episodes, "Green Are the Leaves" and "Murder in the Mirror." Along with "The Photograph" and "Condemned in the Crystal," this entry was incorporated into the 1961 release "The Devil's Messenger," expanding Lon Chaney's role as host to becoming the Devil himself in exclusively shot new footage.

Warning: Spoilers
This new episode written and directed by Curt Siodmak is a story that is inspired by horror movies from the 40's and 50's: although I don't remember all the titles. The tale of workers in the bottom of a mine who find a big piece of ice with something inside. It happens to be a woman prisoner of this huge piece of ice. So, authorities bring the ice to the ice house to determine what is it really. The most surprising thing is that the doctor in charge falls in love with the frozen woman. His wife suspects him to have an affair with another woman...

So shame that I can't remember the films whose this episode is inspired from. I have seen so many since nearly thirty years...

But, anyway, it's a very good story, very unusual. Even about acting and music score. Very entertaining. An authentic Curt Siodmak product.
