Michelle Forbes: Lynne Kresge

Quotes

  • Lynne Kresge : Before you go to your press conference, Rayburn wanted me to give you this updated damage projection

President David Palmer : These casualty figures are higher

Lynne Kresge : Sir, they've all but ruled out dirty bombs and conventional weapons: they feel we're actually dealing with a nuclear bomb

  • Jack Bauer : [Over the phone]  I need to speak with the President

Lynne Kresge : I'm terribly sorry, his with the press core right now

Jack Bauer : Listen to me: CTU's phone lines are down. I need you to give him an urgent message

Lynne Kresge : What is it?

Jack Bauer : CTU Los Angeles is going to be blown up within the hour. Wald's group is doing it

Lynne Kresge : Is this the nuclear bomb?

Jack Bauer : No, no it is not the nuke. I repeat, it is not the nuke but you need to evacuate CTU and you need to alert a bomb squad

  • Lynne Kresge : Wald's crew is planning to blow up CTU Los Angeles. It is a non radiological attack and it is happening within the hour

Eric Rayburn : Where'd you get this?

    Lynne Kresge : Jack Bauer

Eric Rayburn : Their hitting CTU to cripple their investigation to divert their attention from the major strike

    Lynne Kresge : I agree

Eric Rayburn : Has Bauer contacted CTU?

Lynne Kresge : He couldn't get through. Phone lines are down. Somehow we have to warn CTU

Eric Rayburn : No we don't. We can't

Lynne Kresge : What're you talking about?

Eric Rayburn : If Wald's crew fails, they'll think somebody tipped off CTU. They'll figure out it was Bauer

Lynne Kresge : Are you seriously suggesting we just let these people at CTU die? Jack Bauer called with specific instructions

Eric Rayburn : Why isn't he stopping them himself? Because he knows his got to keep his cover intact. He knows if his exposed, he can't get to Wald and we lose our only chance to find the nuke

Lynne Kresge : This is the President's decision

Eric Rayburn : Except right now his trying to convince the press it's "business as usual", we've already detained Ron Wieland illegally, we can't muzzle the entire press corps

Lynne Kresge : We still have to tell the President

Eric Rayburn : And we will. When his in a position to hear it

Lynne Kresge : It'll be too late by then

Eric Rayburn : This is my call

Lynne Kresge : I don't work for you

  • Lynne Kresge : What're you doing here? I told you I need to speak to the President

Jenny Dodge : The President wants me to draft a statement anticipating a nuclear event

Lynne Kresge : And why I haven't heard from him?

Jenny Dodge : His still on camera

Lynne Kresge : I told you this was urgent: you are his press secretary, you should have slipped him a note

Jenny Dodge : I did, ma'am I'm sure as soon as the President can extricate himself he'll call you

  • Eric Rayburn : What're you doing?

Eric Rayburn : [Rushing to speak to the President]  it was you wasn't it? You told Jenny to keep the President away from me

Eric Rayburn : I spared the President from a no win situation

Lynne Kresge : The people did not elect you to make that choice

Eric Rayburn : It's too late

Lynne Kresge : [Before trying to walk away while Eric stands in front of her and grabs her arm]  maybe not. Get out of my way

Eric Rayburn : Don't do this: you do not want me as an enemy, I promise

Lynne Kresge : Are you threatening me?

Eric Rayburn : Just giving you some strong advice

President David Palmer : [Walking up to them]  what's going on?

Lynne Kresge : [after Eric remains silent]  Jack Bauer called. He said that Wald's crew is planning to blow up CTU. It's a non nuclear strike which suggests there's a secondary target

President David Palmer : When is this happening?

Lynne Kresge : We're not sure, Bauer got cut off

President David Palmer : Have you contacted CTU?

Eric Rayburn : That's what we were "debating"

    President David Palmer : "Debating?"

Eric Rayburn : Right now Wald is our thread to finding the nuke but Bauer hasn't gotten to Wald yet. If we stop Wald's crew they may realize it was Bauer that turned them in. In the mean time, I'm having CTU transfer all their Intel so the only losses would be infrastructure and personnel

President David Palmer : Those losses are unacceptable

President David Palmer : [to Lynn]  contact CTU immediately

    Lynne Kresge : Yes Sir
