I Love You

Yes, this episode and indeed the whole series does veer on the side of being overly sentimental at times, but it remains lovely stuff.

This was another very strong and emotional episode.

Warning: Spoilers
this episode really stress the importance of the words i love you. Mary keeps getting Wilson to try and tell her he loves her. Lucy' friend Laurie has never heard the words from her mom. her grandmother is very verbally abusive and so her mom. by teaching Laurie the words "i love you" Lucy hopes to break the cycle of abuse. Lucy and her mom go to the grocery store to work on Lucy's school project for home economics. she needs to learn how to plan meals for a month for a family of four on a budget. they over hear Laurie being berated by her mom. Lucy invites her to shop with them. later when Lucy and reverend Camden drop Laurie at home, they see first hand the verbal abuse of her mother by the grandmother. Laurie says she loves her mom for the first time and the audience sees hope for breaking the cycle of abuse. unfortunately it is more complicated than that in real life. it would take the grandmother wanting to change and as well as the mom and lots of therapy.
