Bill Sanderson (Andrew Duggan) is the owner of the Los Angeles Wildcats, the best team in pro basketball. He has a lot to be happy about...he has a great team and they are expected to win in the playoffs. But this is all thrown into doubt when he learns that one of his players once shaved points in a game to help out his ne'er do well brother-in-law. He tells this player to forget it...but the brother-in-law is still a problem. He won't back down and insists they either shave off a few points for his gambler friends OR he'll go to the press to tell them about the point shaving and the star player is sure to be suspended...or worse. In anger, Bill slugs the guy...and kills him. Now at this point, he could have contacted the police and said it was an accident or that the guy was shaking him down...but instead he decides to hide the body! And, when this brother-in-law disappears, his sister contacts Barnaby Jones to find him.
In several instances, Bill behaves foolishly...not just in not informing the police but also for involving his slow-witted friend in the affair. This seems out of character for him....as do his other behaviors. See the show, see what I mean. Additionally, this is a STRANGE looking champion basketball team, as everyone looks so short and unathletic!
Overall, an interesting show but with one or two too many plot holes. Still, well worth seeing...just not among the better episodes of the series.
