That's honestly about it, it's fine. The animation is swell as ever, Conroy does his usual best and Alfred gets a bit a more prominent role this time round.

Alfred The Butler Saves The Day!
ccthemovieman-12 July 2007
Warning: Spoilers
This was a different kind of Batman story: kind of "Cool Hand Luke" episode where our hero winds up in a chain-gang-like predicament.
It all started when Bruce Wayne finds out from a friend who runs the big mission in Metropolis that people he knows in in the city are missing. They are all kinds of people, not just down-on-their-luck transients who need the city mission. The latest was a volunteer named "Dan Riley."
Bruce (a.k.a. Batman) decides to go undercover, posing as a homeless man to see why and how these people are disappearing. He finds out quickly and gets bonked on the head from behind. The next thing he knows he's chained to a bed with a bunch of other prisoners, and he's lost his memory!
The villain was the guy who ran the slave-camp, of course. and was a big slob who ate all the time. At least they didn't stereotype him with a Southern accent.
The best thing about the story might be who winds up being the hero: Alfred!!
Overall, this was a good story and another beautifully drawn.

Who is Bruce Wayne?

This is an excellent episode, because of many reasons. Sean Catherine Derek, Jules Dennis, and Richard Mueller did a great job writing the script. Alfred finds out Bruce Wayne is missing. When Alfred smells danger, he uses his own method of finding Bruce Wayne. Its a simple way of showing how faithful Alfred is.
In this episode, we see that Bruce Wayne has amnesia. We see him working hard with others. He doesn't know who he is, because of his amnesia. But when he realizes who he is ("My family" flashback), he becomes far more stronger than other human beings. The script brilliantly shows what makes Bruce Wayne "Batman" and how he is different from other human beings. The flashback sequence is handled brilliantly by the writers.
Another good point is there are no major villains like Joker or Riddler or Mad Hatter in this episode. And this helps to focus more on the character of Bruce Wayne.

Warning: Spoilers
Story: Very mature story. Nice western feel. Deals with real-life problems (homelessness). Pretty good premise. Great, creepy dream sequence with Joker cameo. A moving episode. However, if the two men Bruce meets live in Gotham City, why don't they recognise its most famous person? (8/10)
Characters: Good disguise voice from Kevin Conroy. A cliche, weak villain. Interesting and likeable supporting characters. Alfred's plot is very cool. And his scene with the Batwing is hilarious. Joke and closing line is funny. (7/10)
Animation: Cool disguise scene. Fluid actions when working/mining. Cool fight sequences. Scene where Bruce remembers who he is well animated. Cool lighting when in dark. (8/10)
Verdict: 8/10

Such a great episode..
Its always endearing to see when Alfred gets involved in saving Bruce..
This had such amazing cinematic moments..
The short montage of him remembering everything back and cut to him standing on the top of a Gotham Building as Batman gave me goosebumps..
The background music here adds more to this beautiful episode..
