I wrote a review for one of the earlier episodes and said something was missing at that point and the writing a little clumsy. I realized after watching this one and the one previous, that this now is the show fully developed and the characters we love. The actors and writers have figured out exactly who each character is and given them dimension. There's chemistry and camaraderie. I think each character has been paired off with all the others in different scenes now so they have their own dynamic between them. We also now how our regular doctor and Greg in the lab. There's more than just style going on. There's emotion and grey areas. But it's not a total soap opera the way certain others shows can become. It's still a serious procedural. This is what kept people watching for years and years.
Also I can't believe how young Aldis Hodge was here! The only small criticism I have is when the female victim was lying in the road, there was no crucial reason for her to have her bra so prominently exposed. That seemed like the director was still trying too hard to be shocking. But other than that, a really excellent episode.
