Twin Falls mystery
v8powerage2 February 2022
This time Cannon goes all the way to Idaho to help young man who got short end of the stick and it looks like he's gonna spend rest of his days in prison for the crime he didn't commit. His situation is not helped by the fact that the whole town seems to be convinced of his guilt. Frank will have an uphill battle with this one but as always he'll come out on top in the last minute! Overall enjoable episode, worth noting is fact that it was actually filmed in Idaho, quite a surprise.

VIVID FLASHPOINT FOR CANNON.
tcchelsey12 May 2022
A sobering episode, perhaps the most sexually charged, written by Robert Heverly, veteran writer for the FBI tv series. He also did a few episodes of MOD SQUAD, and this possibly could have been an outline for a story that was never filmed. It has that feel.

Cannon travels to a college town in Idaho (filmed on location) to save a young man from rape charges and rebellious locals out to kill him. The opening scene is graphic -- especially for 70s tv --as a girl, supposedly on a date, is about to be raped by two goons, one posing as a cop.

I agree with the last reviewer there are shades of HAWAII FIVE O, some deep psychological material in play. The acting here is excellent, the cast to be commended for doing a super job thanks to series director William Wiard.

Applause for Ruth Roman, who gives an outstanding performance, caught in the middle of this scandal on steroids. Ruth was quite popular on tv at the time, having co-starred in two top movies, THE BABY, a cult film, and GO ASK ALICE, playing a psychiatrist.

Also Jesse Vint guest stars, brother of Alan Vint, who previously appeared in the blockbuster film, MACON COUNTY LINE. Watch that film, produced by Max Baer. Yes, that's Jimmy Lydon playing the district attorney. Lydon was a teenage movie star back in the day, known for playing HENRY ALDRICH. He was a good friend of Bill Conrad and worked with him as co-producer at Warner Brothers tv for years. Their biggest project together was 77 SUNSET STRIP, the final season, which I always thought had some dynamic episodes.

METV PLUS is now running the series on weekends.

Don't miss another GAG scene; some goons pour a ton of sugar into Cannon's coffee. He sips it and pours some more! Obviously lifted from the Three Stooges. The crew was always up to some jokes behind the scenes.

Tag this 10 STARS. SEASON 4 EPISODE 9 remastered color CBS box set. 6 dvd set. 2016.

This one has a BIG plot hole....
planktonrules19 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This is about the 5 or 6th episode where Cannon goes to a small town to investigate a crime...only to find it full of crazy jerks who seem more than willing to kill him if he gets in their way.

When the episode begins, a car runs out of gas. Some folks soon arrive...not to help out but to molest and murder the poor woman. Soon after this, the town is about to explode as a lot of vigilantes INSIST they know who the murderer is...and in this case, who needs a trial and a jury, as they seem ready to string him up! All this is being orchestrated by an obviously nutty guy, Cliff. As for Cliff, his mommy soon finds evidence he's killed the girl...and has killed before. But she destroys the evidence and doesn't let anyone know that her darling boy spend some time in an institute for the criminally insane!

This is an interesting episode except for one thing. The guy was initially accused of committing the rape/murder and Cannon insists he take a polygraph. This test indicated that although he didn't rape this girl, he HAD raped before...and this was totally dropped and no one did anything about investigating this. Talk about a HUGE plot hole!! It's a shame, as otherwise it is a pretty good episode.
