Love the show but this episode was a downer

Warning: Spoilers
I appreciate the writers had the courage to address drug and alcohol abuse by the service people. This was a great episode as it shows the interaction between cultures and officers vs enlisted. This episode dealt with several issues that were pretty sensitive at that time. We hadn't been out of Vietnam all that long so I think it took some real courage to put these things out there. I find myself wondering if the show began to lose viewers because it was getting too real, too close to home for many families that had someone in that conflict.

The one thing that seemed lame to me, when Boonie was trapped under the truck there were a whole bunch of people running back and forth. Why didn't they just put them all to work lifting the damned truck off of him? The army I was in would have put every man and woman on it. If Boonie was supposed to get written out they could have pulled him and amputated the leg for being too damaged, I was sitting there yelling, "Get those people busy lifting that damned truck".

That is why only 8 stars this time.
