It doesn't surprise me that in a show where there's almost no development in story, it ends in such vague fashion. Basically all three main characters cease to exist going forward. John on the spacecraft who shouldn't be able to leave, with no means to return home. Kimberly Hive and Bach dead. Meanwhile Steele's still been out there wreaking havoc the whole time. The entire point of the drug distribution storyline is solely so John can see inside the spacecraft, it's both pointless and convenient at the same time. Easy to see why the show was canceled, there was hope while Megan Ward in focus.
