This fun, breezy episode from season 5 is one of my favorites and is pure high-concept: Fred is given the task of arranging 2 parties for the same night, one for Pebbles' birthday and the other for the Water Buffalo Lodge. No problem, right? The zaniness starts when the caterer (I'm the only caterer in town!) can't remember where to send the entertainment and, of course, sends the kiddie party stuff (the food, the clown) to the lodge and sends the lodge party's adult entertainment and refreshments to Fred's house for Pebbles' party. Hijinks commence.
The absolute highlight of the episode has to be the dancing girls (the Boulderettes!) who come out of the birthday cake and then spend the remainder of the episode doing dance-throughs (to a very catchy melody) despite Fred's best efforts to get rid of them. At one point they even start to come out of the refrigerator proving they really know how to make an entrance!
Headscratchers - When Fred FINALLY figures out what happened with the parties (he's pretty slow on the uptake), he leaves Pebbles' party and rushes off to the lodge in his car to explain the mix-up. Why not just phone? I guess then we couldn't have his car break down on the way.
