  Barney Rubble : Well, I'll try it, but you know Fred. It won't work.

  [Betty is later sitting in a chair reading] 

  Betty Rubble : I just know it will work. Fred's really sentimental. When he sees the cup, he'll soften up. And when Barney goes into that "Close friend, bosom buddy, lifelong pal," Fred will break down and cry. In fact, Barney will break down and cry, too, if I know him. Oh, they're a couple of sentimental guys. They really love each other.

  [hears the door open] 

  Betty Rubble : Is that you, Barney?

  [Barney enters with the cup over him] 

  Barney Rubble : I told you it wouldn't work.

• [Fred and Barney leave the house, carrying their golf bags, arguing] 

  Fred Flintstone : And after I beat you at golf, I'll give you a bowling lesson.

  Barney Rubble : Oh, yeah?

  Fred Flintstone : Yeah! And then I'll beat you at pool!

  Barney Rubble : Oh, is that so?

  Fred Flintstone : Yeah, that's so!

  Wilma Flintstone : [from the window]  Oh, listen to them fighting.

  Betty Rubble : Yeah. Thank goodness they're friends again.

  Betty Rubble : Barney, be careful.

  Barney Rubble : Don't worry. But, uh, check and see if I paid my last insurance premium just in case and all.
