Sherman's Hotel

Fred runs into an old friend Sherman, who owns a hotel in Rock Vegas.

One of the best and funniest episodes. Fred and Barney decide to go on vacation with the wives to Rock Vegas. There are some hilarious scenes on the freeway as Fred does some crazy driving, at one point Barney ages into an old man. They get to Rock Vegas and stay at Sherman's place The Golden Cactus. Fred loses all his money at a slot machine, a funny scene when an old lady takes over his machine and hits the jackpot. Sherman gives the. Flintsones and Rubbles jobs. Matrie d Fred, cigarette girl Wilma, waiter Barney and photographer Betty. Barney and Betty also sing a duet "When You're Smilin'".

It does have some laughs but it's a strange episode coming so soon after The Gambler . I know we're not supposed to expect much continuity or consistency and actually they do a decent enough job on The Flintstones but the episodes are pretty close together . Earlier in season two The Gambler ( one of the best) is all about Fred's gambling problem and how it resurfaces . So you would think Rock Vegas is the last place Wilma would want to go. Indeed Fred still has a gambling problem and loses all their money before they even check in . Fred's buddy owns the hotel and puts them up and they work at the hotel and casino for the week.
