Dot, Dot, What a girl I've got.

Warning: Spoilers
Sometimes the best episodes are the ones that are written just for fun, the Dorothy and "Beatlemania" performer affair is very funny. There's some more tender storyline involving Blanche's blind date (Ken Howard) whom Dorothy dumped simply because she won a "Beatlemania" ticket. When she describes it to them the next day, it's very funny especially when the one who played George without wearing Dorothy's frilly robe. Blanche's relationship with Howard doesn't start off well concerning his dealing with having lost his wife two years before, but it soon becomes apparent that Howard is a complete gentleman and wants to court her, not rushing into anything physical. It didn't seem like an interesting plot at first, but it's soon becomes very apparent that it's going to be very touching. I love the tropical hotel room that Blanche arranges for their tryst. Very snappy, and obviously inspired by Dudley Moore's playboy apartment in "Foul Play".

Warning: Spoilers
Dorothy has a blind date but she wants Blanche to go instead of her because she has a ticket to Beatlemania that she doesn't want to miss. Blanche feels bad after going with this guy several times because he doesn't want to sleep with her and she feels her attractiveness is fading. And Dorothy hooks up with the guy who impersonates George and has lots of fun.

A nice episode. I hope they don't make Blanche a "lady" to the end of the show, since her having fun is not a bad thing but it will e interesting if it lasts a few episodes.

And Dorothy running around with "George" singing "yeah yeah yeah" was a great fun.

Surprisingly tender and touching.

One of my favorite episodes thanks to memorable performances by Rue and Ken Howard. Dorothy's hot affair with an actor who impersonates George in a performance of Beatlemania gets expected laughs. But it's Blanch's thwarted attempts to seduce a blind date (beautifully portrayed by Ken Howard) that leads this episode into unexpected areas of genuine tenderness and romance. The writers outdid themselves with this exceptional episode: the final two words, uttered by Blanch, just might break your heart.
