In this episode Sgt. Carter and Gomer Pyle go to Washington D. C. on Marine business. Gomer wants to see all the sights and pay his respects to the great history of this great city, which is a very admirable thing to do. Sgt. Carter just wants to have sex. So his plan is to give Gomer the brush off and he tells him a phony story about having to visit an old friend of the family. He's quite a friend, that Sgt. Carter. If there's a female within 100 miles he'll smell her like a hound dog, drop his friend, and take off after the female!
So Gomer goes on one of the visitor's tours by himself and sees the sights, periodically calling Sgt. Carter to give him updates. This aggravates Carter and comedy is the result. Gomer constantly annoys the tour guides too, and comedy results.
At one point both Gomer and Carter get in a whole world of trouble with the Secret Service and I won't say any more than that.
This is a fairly good episode, but not one of the best. It didn't live up to the potential that was inherent in the premise. I gave it a "7" which for me means average.
