True, this was a reworking of a story on 77 SUNSET STRIP, called "Safari," and also starring Arch Johnson. Super in both roles.
Johnson plays Jonathan West, a famous author and big game hunter who is leading a safari, targeting a wild boar. Tom's friend, who happens to be a reporter, has questions about the whole adventure, which really gets dangerous. The best scenes are naturally in the jungle, and Tom has to really put up his dukes in this one. Not cops and robbers, but lots of guns and left hooks. Beware. Nobody could fight as good as Robert Conrad. He is fun to watch.
Arch Johnson, as usual, is at his best in this type of over the top role. Johnson was a regular on many classic tv shows, such as BEWITCHED and GUNSMOKE. Popular tv actor Philip Pine (also looking suspicious) and actress Angelea Green guest star.
Crickett sings an old Sammy Cahn tune and Poncie has a couple of fun scenes. The surprise ending is one to wait for, and Johnson relates a strange tale.
