Halloween with More Power!
ExplorerDS678911 October 2013
Warning: Spoilers
It's that time of year again. All Hallows Eve. And to begin the season, Tim and Al have carved Jack-o-Lanterns, the latter carving one in the image of his hero, Bob Vila. Tim, on the other hand, decides to carve his with MORE POWER! It literally backfires on Al. At home, the Taylors make preparations for Brad's Halloween party. Tim rigs the basement into a house of horrors and Jill cooks up ghoulish confectioneries. As for Brad, he's dressed up as Raggedy Andy. Why? Because he and Jennifer had agreed to dress up as Raggedy Ann and Andy... bet you know where this is going. Needless to say, he looks hilarious in a red clown wig, make-up and over-sized shoes. Speaking of costumes, Jill has to rush off to pick up hers, it's reportedly the scariest looking costume the rental house has ever carried. Bet you can also see where THIS is going. So while Randy and Mark head off to trick-or-treat, dressed as a pirate and Tim 'The Tool Man' Taylor respectively, it's time to party hearty! Beginning with the reveal of Jill's costume: a giant carrot! Yeah, that is pretty darn scary...if you're a rabbit. Oh, and Curtis was invited too because...? He's dressed as an atom, so Jill tells him to split.

Surprise, surprise, when Jennifer finally arrives, she's dressed as a biker chick, and not Raggedy Ann. She's also miffed at Brad for some unknown reason. Tim encourages his eldest boy to get to the bottom of this quandary by saying two magic words that will make women forgive you for just about anything: "I understand." Though it doesn't always work. Apparently it all had to do with Brad picking some other girl over Jennifer for a kickball game. So they make up, and they both apologize for Brad having to dress up as Raggedy Andy, then Jill leads them all downstairs into the "catacombs of terror." Hanging ghouls and ghosts, smoking lab equipment, it looks pretty good. Tim appears as "Nanastein", mother in-law from beyond the grave, and leave it to one little spoil-sport to try and ruin everybody's run: Danny, Brad's rival, points out how bogus the whole thing is, and to top it all off, tells Tim his show should be called "Fool Time." In response, he's shown Nanastein's tool box. What's inside? A bucket, and underneath is... Al's head! That and a mummified Wilson scare the little brat out of his wits. What a scream! Literally!

For classic Home Improvement Halloween fun, look no further! First, I'd like to address what we're all thinking about: wasn't the Raggedy Andy situation repeated on South Park? Yes, indeed it was. Stan dresses as the aforementioned rag-doll and Wendy promised the same, except she changed her mind, but for different reasons than Jennifer. Now that two hilarious shows have done this premise, though Brad's Raggedy Andy costume was more detailed than Stan's, I guess because he's more dedicated, it need not be repeated. Please take notes. If any other sitcom tries to repeat this gag, it won't be funny. The premise of Tim's show being called Fool Time would be repeated again in Season 3, this time by Randy, and this time, Tim takes greater offense to it. But as for this episode, what's not to like? Jill as a carrot, Tim as Nanastein, Mark as Tim, and of course, Al's head in a tool box along with what may or may not be fake spiders. Poor Al. So anyway, this Halloween season, or any season, experience...The Haunting of Taylor House.
