Lucy goes back to the old act of proving how untalented she is in many ways as a visual site gag, and it's remotely funnier than the previous episode with young Jenny Lewis fortunately less annoying then she had been before. You can really relate to Lewis not really being interested in being taught how to play the saxophone by her grandmother, especially by hearing how bad she sounds and the reaction of a dog next door.
A very funny gag involves Gale Gordon responding to Lucy's playing with some chocolate moose, and a retread of the old getting stuck gag follows. So this episode is an improvement but not by much and it shows how old ideas from vintage sitcoms that were funny in the sixties just didn't work in the turbulent 1980's. I find that I smile at these episodes more than laughs, as they are nostalgic for the type of sitcoms humor I grew up with.
