Notorious outlaw The Dude and his three henchmen rob a stage and kill all the passengers. One of those passengers was the Vice President of the stage line. He is to pick up $100,000 in gold from the next town and take it back to St. Louis. The Dude poses as the VP and he and his men get the gold. They also frame the Lone Ranger as the Dude. That's easy because the local sheriff, while honest, is a lunkhead. He's played by Deforest Kelly, who of course later went to medical school and became ship's doctor on the Starship Enterprise. The sheriff jails the Ranger, but Tonto and a local named Horseface Jackson help him break out. Now the Ranger and Tonto have to catch up with the outlaws and stay one jump ahead of Doctor McCoy, er the sheriff and his posse. An excellent episode with lots of action.
