Some funny lines but nothing else.

Even though this episode was not badly written and actually had some funny lines, when it was finally put on the screen it just was not that believable or interesting.

It begins when Gruber has a scheme where he places fake pearls into some oysters that the crew has caught. When the visiting sailors find the pearls they will come down to McHale's island and pay to dive and hopefully find more pearls. It is a profit maker that anyone would be proud.

But when Binghamton finds a pearl, he thinks that he will take over the operation and hog all the money for himself. He even partners up with the local Chief to provided divers for the pearl producing adventure. But when a tribal folklore monster appears in the lagoon, things will change quickly.

Again there was some funny lines in this script but really nothing else of value. When it came down for the monster to make an appearance it was less than believable. In fact the entire show rested on getting to that point but it proved to be more disappointing than expected. And having Ensign Parker operating the mechanical monster was a bad idea from the get-go. This episode was lacking.
