"The Nanny" really was the first sitcom Soap Opera, profiling the growing romance between Maxwell and Fran for several years before they made it official. The sentiment that occurs on a recurring basis every time that the possibility of a romance growing is brought out can sometimes be a little awkward. The episode concerns friends desperation to find a date for a reunions of classmates from elementary, and her efforts to impress school rival Morgan Brittany. Fran shows up at the reunions with Erik Estrada, looking for a publicity stunt, and Brittany isn't there when he leaves. But Maxwell shows up to save the day, and the show ends on a rather achingly sappy moment. Estrada is very funny poking fun at his old image from the 1970's, and a good sport for an actor whose career really didn't go much further. Brittany, one of the vixens from "Dallas", is barely recognizable yet still glamorous, and she gets a very funny twist involving her date who happened to have once worked in one of Maxwell's many musical revivals.
