The second episode of the series introduces Anne Morgan Guilbert as grandma Yette in her only first season episode, the wackiest recurring character on a sitcom outside of "Designing Women's" Bernice Clifton. She's there to show Brighton the dangers of smoking, seen in her retirement home and making the most of her brief screen time. Carol Channing makes a cameo appearance as herself, singing her signature song "Hello Dolly!" briefly before being dismissed. Benjamin Salisbury shows great comic timing as he smugly outwits Fran from ratting him out. It's fun to see the relationships grow between Fran and the others, particularly Niles who becomes her best ally.
