JoAnna talks Dick into going to a potluck dinner, hoping it will help them meet people. At the meeting hall. the men sit in the main room and the women are relegated to the kitchen. This upsets JoAnna and she decides to carry on a crusade to fight an age old tradition. The men are stunned. The best moment, however, has to do with Stephanie, who is doing a beauty treatment and looks like a Martian. Unfortunately, a couple guests arrive. The scene where she surprises George is hilarious.

Joanna and Dick are invited to a town pot luck dinner and she is shocked when the men and women eat separately.
A funny episode about the wacky townsfolk which always made for a good show. Dimwitted Chester and ever cheerful Jim are growing nicely into their roles. Mary Frann also gives a good performance. Stephanie also has a funny moment when guests arrive when she is giving her self a beauty treatment with mud pack and plastic bags on her head.
