"The Last of Howard" is notable as the first TV episode to be filmed on an actual cruise ship, two years before COLUMBO's "Troubled Waters," and four years prior to THE LOVE BOAT. In line with the latter, Laurie is romanced by would-be aristocrat Howard (Bruce Kimmel, in his fifth and final appearance), whose boasting of wealth and power lead Keith and Danny to believe he's an imposter. After Mrs. Milstead (Ruth Gillette) reports her missing bracelet to the Captain (Bill Zuckert), Keith and Danny convince Reuben that Howard is an international jewel thief using Laurie as a stooge, now forced to steal it off Laurie's wrist to return it to Mrs. Milstead (poor Reuben winds up in the tutu again, just as in "Fellini, Bergman and Partridge"). The featured song is the very pleasant, yet unreleased, "When Love's Talked About," composed by Wes Farrell, John Bahler, and Tony Asher.
