"Whatever Happened to Keith Partridge?" poses the question that many David Cassidy fans wanted to know, how would Keith fare in Hollywood? Sad to say, it's a question that goes unanswered, as the role of a vicious mustachioed hoodlum goes to someone else (Keith was never allowed to emerge victorious). Let's face it, a movie called "Hitchhike from Death" was probably not bound to become a box office winner anyway. This was as close as David Cassidy came to playing his father on the show. Among the familiar faces are Jim Connell (very funny in "A Partridge by Any Other Name"), Shelley Morrison, Cindy Cassel (in the second of three appearances), and Claire Wilcox, so memorable as Keith's smitten teenage fan Cathy in "Love at First Slight" (obviously still smitten as she asks for his autograph). The second of three scripts from SOAP/THE GOLDEN GIRLS creator Susan Harris. The featured song is a cover of Gene Pitney's 1965 hit "Looking Through the Eyes of Love," composed by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, which became the eighth single Dec 1972 (charting at 39), the last Top 40 hit for The Partridge Family, also issued Nov 1972 on the sixth LP NOTEBOOK. The whole thing starts off with a short reprise of the sixth single (Mar 1972), "Am I Losing You," composed by Irwin Levine and L. Russell Brown, from the fifth LP SHOPPING BAG.
