Very much a 1990s view of teenage girls

The script wtiters are not totally aware of how girls behaved in 1900s. Teenage rebellion and moodiness are a modern thing. In 1900s a young gir of good upbringing as Felicity Kingl in knew how to behave irrespective of her moods. It is only in our permissive society that children are allowed to do and say what they want, often with impunity.

A sweet, realistic episode that spoke to me

This episode continues Felicity's path on being an adult while the other children are curious about it and are disappointed to see her growing up too fast. Sara and Felix peek into her window and Felix steals Felicity's diary, curious about what she is doing behind that door. Felicity is about 12 or 13 and because of this adolescence, she's torn between wanting to be a child or an adult. I liked how Felicity was ashamed of her flaws because not many teenagers in fiction are.

I don't know any teenagers who talk about wanting to be adults but judging by my experience as a younger teenager and with other teenagers, we like to put on makeup and be outside by ourselves when it is getting dark, and even try to boss our parents around. It's like an impulsive thinking to us, we don't know if we're acting like grown- ups or not.

I liked how concerned the characters are and the realism of the consequences of trying to act older than you are. It was a pretty good episode and it did have some funny moments with the interactions of Cecily and her parents. Yes, she can be too unassertive but I still like her so far in this series.

Huge fan but it's overlooked...

I love Avonlea, but the age gap between the actors M. Mahoney and G. Zamprogna was TWELVE years. She was 14 and he was 26...though to this day he looks MUCH younger.

They were adorable together but the age difference makes it a little creepy. Ah the 90s!
