"Fred Meets Redd" ponders the question that viewers might not have been asking, the fictional Fred Sanford face to face with the actual Redd Foxx. Redd Foxx will appear at NBC studios to promote his latest picture, "Windows Are a Pane in the Glass," and Fred naturally is one of his biggest fans, eager to enter the Redd Foxx lookalike contest, where the winner gets $100, two tickets to his movie, and a weekend in Las Vegas as his guest. Tirelessly doing inventory so that Marvin (Jack Carter) can take care of his income taxes, Fred is barely awake for the audition but still manages to win. This was the last of ten memorable episodes for Fritzi Burr, a fine straight woman, with brief appearances from veteran funny man Benny Rubin and Debraca Foxx, real life step-daughter of Redd Foxx. As for Redd playing Redd, it's less memorable than "Mork Meets Robin Williams."
