The Grey Foxes
kevinolzak9 December 2016
"Fred the Activist" opens with Fred attempting to purchase a new quadrophonic stereo from Honest Hank (Taurean Blacque), who cannot allow a payment plan of 48 months to anyone over 65. Even worse, he learns that Esther received the same terms, because he insisted she's not old. Lamont suggests that the way to fight is to join the 'Grey Foxes,' where he meets Clarence Richardson (Mel Stewart) and the Stevens sisters, Millie (Helen Martin) and Rose (Hilda Haynes): "I see a lot of grey, but where are the foxes?" Drafted to be the leader, 'Fidel Sanford' sets out to picket Honest Hank for his failure to offer credit for the elderly. Helen Martin (last of four) would soon play Demond Wilson's mother-in-law Luzelle on his next sitcom BABY I'M BACK: "Luzelle is French for killer!" (Hilda Haynes previously appeared as Aunt 'Minnie the Moocher' in "Aunt Esther and Uncle Woodrow Pfftt").
