Nathaniel Taylor debuts as Rollo Larson
kevinolzak15 December 2016
"Have Gun, Will Sell" marked the debut of Nathaniel Taylor as Rollo Larson, best friend of Lamont, of whom his father typically disapproves, labeling him a thief and ex-con though it's never confirmed if he's been in jail. Fred waits up for Lamont to get home, interrupting a burglar who was trying to steal the TV set. Rollo is the one to find a .38 Smith & Wesson dropped by the intruder, enough for Fred to clutch his heart in feigned agony. Never having owned a gun, Fred wants to take it to the police but Rollo suggests unloading it on a pawnbroker (William Hansen). The shopkeeper notices how nervous Fred is, sees him brandish a pistol, and naturally assumes he's about to be robbed! Officers Swanny (Noam Pitlik, last of six) and Smitty arrive in time to sort things out. This was the last of six appearances for Noam Pitlik, whose character of Officer Swanhauser would be replaced as Smith's partner by Howard T. Platt as Officer Hopkins aka 'Hoppy' in "The Shootout."
