Marlene Clark debuts as Janet Lawson
kevinolzak12 November 2016
"Lamont in Love" opens with a classic 'birds and the bees' conversation between father and son, Fred wanting Lamont to explain it to him: "I ain't been stung in years!" There's a new woman in Lamont's life and Fred is determined to learn more about Janet Lawson, especially after a big bruiser comes looking for Lamont. Nancy Kulp makes the fourth of five appearances as Officer Hoppy's mother May, who offers advice about investigating Janet's background, suggesting a sidekick like Watson to Sherlock Holmes: "even Ellery had his Queen!" Aunt Esther is willing to do anything to help her favorite nephew, even introduce Fred to Janet (dressed as Peter Falk's Columbo) as Dumbo the Falkon! Pretty Marlene Clark was well cast as Janet, making five more appearances into the next season.
