Warning: Spoilers
Percy (Tanya Allen in splendidly sassy and spirited form) gets arrested after she assaults a bounty hunter who's a member of the elite Oberon Militia. Evil and crafty rival bounty hunter Oberon Militia gang leader Rex (a pleasingly nasty portrayal by Tina Malone) uses Percy's arrest to blackmail Dante (Michael Pare, solid as always) into freeing her brutish convict brother Goran (fiercely played with conviction by the hulking Pat Roach) from a Nereid prison. The harsh scenes showing both Percy and Dante alike incarcerated in their respective penitentiaries are quite rough and harrowing, with Percy arguably getting the worst of it when she's placed in a cell with two bitter and hardened cellmates who threaten to kill her if she doesn't succeed in helping them break out. Moreover, Dante's plan for springing Goran from the joint is really clever and surprising and it's a total treat to see Percy get tough and resourceful while locked up. The constant snappy pace and lively cinematography keep things buzzing throughout. And Dante's willingness to risk his life for Percy provides some heart amid all the grittiness.
