As you may or may not know, The Prodigy had to cancel their set last night at Ultra Music Festival. They were supposed to close the Live Stage, but instead, organizers found themselves scrambling to find a replacement, and in a surprising turn of events, they found deadmau5.
Already set to play on the Asot stage later today, festivalgoers were thrilled to hear that they’d be getting a double dose of the mau5. And as expected, he didn’t disappoint. Dropping tracks both old and new, as well as an ID, it was an hour of perfection, as Joel put on a showcase that only left us wanting more.
Thankfully, we don’t have too long to wait to see him again, as the producer will take to the stage at 6:50pm today for his second set of the weekend. And, given that this one will no doubt...

There’s something sweetly old-fashioned about the premise of ABC’s latest family comedy, The Real O’Neals, in which the an image-obsessed Catholic mom desperately attempts to hide her family’s foibles — and her teenage son’s recent coming out — from public scrutiny.
But with quick and clever references to Pretty Little Liars, Game of Thrones, Mumford and Sons and Jimmy Kimmel (just to name a few), the show also manages to be completely of the moment — and damn funny, too.

On this week's episode of Dexter, Travis goes rogue now that he is not tied down by his imaginary friend and secret lover Professor Gellar. He gets help from a new pair of disciples while Deb gets closer to the answer with the dead prostitute.
Imaginary Friend
Dexter is still reeling from the revelation that Travis is acting by himself while imagining that Gellar is still alive. Dexter inspects Gellar's body, but is seen by Travis who looks him in the secret room. Outside, Travis is yelling at his fake boss. It turns out that Travis was the crazy one from the beginning. He killed Gellar trying to prove to him that they were the two witnesses from the book of Revelation. Unlike in the bible, Travis neglected to realize that when you stab someone in real life, they die. Travis runs away screaming about killing more people, and Dexter escapes the basement.

Rescued from the jaws of limbo, the Denver Underground Film Festival comes roaring back to life for three days of short films and one intense feature-length documentary. The fest runs Nov. 11-13 at the Unitarian Society of Denver.
The feature doc screening on the fest’s last night is Iconoclast, Larry Wessel’s epic profile of musician and artistic rabble-rouser Boyd Rice.
The rest of the fest is an eclectic mix of short films, including programs devoted to contemporary Spanish and Canadian cinema, plus a look back at profiles of Andy Warhol caught on film by Jonas Mekas and Stephen Dwoskin.
Some mind-blowing short films to look out for are Jaimz Asmundson’s stunning portrait of his artist father, C. Graham Asmundson, The Magus and Greg Hanson & Casey Regan’s ass-kicking nunsploitation flick, Thy Kill Be Done.

Or, How to Have Hot Passionate Sex With Your Imaginary Friend: In this DVD version of Desiring God—the classic description of Christian hedonism—John Piper explains how the supreme calling of life is to "glorify God by enjoying Him forever." Drawing upon Scripture after Scripture, Piper shows why pursuing maximum joy is essential to glorifying God and, in what may be surprising to some, how God is ready to pursue with all His might our pleasure in Him! The implications of this truth are discussed in regard to conversion, worship, love, Scripture, prayer, money, marriage, missions, and suffering. Oo, baby, what big Might you have. Give it to me.

Some films lend themselves to video games very well. Some do not. You won't see Piranha 3D: The Game anytime soon, where you dodged dismembered penises as they fly at your screen. (No matter how much Uncle Creepy would enjoy that.) Saw, however, was an obvious match. Puzzles, mysteries, gore, all the good things in gaming except rocket launchers.
When the first game was released last year, some of us enjoyed it (Saw: The Video Game (review here)) but I just didn't get into it. The combat drove me nuts. It felt like a good puzzle/adventure game had a survival horror melee combat engine slapped on top of it at the last minute. Then, word of a sequel hit. Would they learn from the past, or fall into the trap of so many games based on films and just churn out more of the same hoping the license sells copies?...
