This is my second favorite episode of the show, it's interesting as this episode came just near the same time as "Back to the Future: Part 2" and even predates the sci-fi shows "Sliders" and "Fringe".

The only bad things are that damn ending which is the one of the biggest cleches that need to die, I hate that kind of ending because it's a blatant cop out rendering the whole story pointless. Let alone the humor at the end felt inappropriate and out of place from what just the Turtles and we as an audience been though, I guess it's suppose to be an ice breaker but it didn't make a dent.

But the other one is the Turtles I don't feel got to kick enough ass in this episode, though this is something I can let slide as this is hardly noticeable as the Turtles were still doing things and exploring the alternate world they were in.

Other than this, it doesn't deter from the episode it's, this episode despite still slightly funny is actually kind of dark as we all of New York City is just in post-apocalyptic ruin. Shredder we see has fraked up bad as everything in New York city is in a state of disrepair, the sky and everything is just polluted and there is crime and danger everywhere.

Though one inconsistence of the episode was Shredder selling propaganda about Mutants being the enemy when the Turtles in this world never existed at all. But I can let that slide as like with most fascists that utilize propaganda its purpose is to steer people away from the truth and manipulate and brainwash the public, making them believe anything they say is even when it isn't.

There are a lot of good and funny moments in this episode. From Krang wanting his monitor fixed so he can watch his favorite soaps, that just cracked me up as we see Krang's a soap opera fan; yeah this would be a sign he's evil as I personally hate soaps.

Another is a little homage parody on the film "Network" when Leo and Raphael see a crappy autobiographical TV show called uninspiringly "I Love Shredder" which is obviously more propaganda but also just another way for Shredder to boost his ego. Then of course is the gasoline to add to the oil fire in Leo and Leo then say's the famous line from that film and of course makes a short but good protest speech. I really like that showing Leo is a person as nice a guy he is, he doesn't take crap from anyone.

But then of course we then find Shredder and we see despite finally getting his wish of being the ruler of Earth he's got more than he bargained for. I just think it's funny because it really shows the fundamental trouble of how the nefarious dreams of villains and reality are two different things all together. But also, even if they achieve their corrupt goals, what the heck else are they going to do as they've put themselves out of the job?

The experience for the turtles did one good thing which was to help renew their faith in their cause and show the importance of their existence, indeed the world really is a better place with them around and would be a very dreadful place without them.
