This was a disappointing fourth season opener especially giving some of the gripping and socially important issues that Room 222 tackled all througout its run. Kaufman gives Alice a wonderful nickname as he calls her the plunger of Wall Street after she allows her students to invest in the stock market with disasterous results. It pains me to say this given the fact dear Alice was always my favorite character but she was a real birdbrain in this episode giving Kaufman more then his usual share of heartache and wasting her students money. She should have just bought the new intercom they wanted and in real life she probably would have been fired!

Pete talks to the class about the history of the stock market. Alice than gets the idea to invest to get money for the school.
An OK episode. Alice is encouraged by Pete's lesson and hears Mr Kaufman talk about his stock broker brother in law. The students invest in a stock that goes up and down and learn some tough lessons about the risks of the market.
