oh my god

Warning: Spoilers
wow! that's really all i can say for this episode. Marissa cooper, one of the four main character, and Ryan Atwood, also one of the four main characters got in a car crash. Ryan leaves the car completely fine and pulls Marissa out. About......5 minutes after that Marissa dies in his arms. Marissa was probably the oc's main character. That was the worst mistake they could've done but the way they did it was very dramatic that made it worth while to watch. This happened at the very end of the episode that i was crying through the whole time. It was very depressing. The oc unexpectedly is returning next fall for another season. I'm predicting it will be 95% on Marissa's death since everyone who watched the finale was in complete shock. There will probably be many twists next season like Trey(Ryan's brother) might come back for Marissa's funeral. Old characters like Luke, Oliver, Marissa's dad, and Holly fisher are coming back too.

Is Marissa really dead?
shorty6_1_9028 May 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I don't think it would be good for the success of the continuing series. Marissa and Ryan are the 2 most emphasized main characters. Sure Seth and Summer are main characters, but they are not as focused on as Marissa and Ryan are. Mischa has stated that the series is not as successful as it was in the first season. Mischa has also said that she doesn't want to be identified by her character. She has also told the press that she would like to make the jump to the big screen. She also told the producers of The O.C. that to keep her on for another season they would have to increase her pay. I believe they might have killed her off to let her do what she wants with her career. I also think that in the next season they will focus on following Summer and Seth to school and make them and their relationship the main pursuit of the show and bring Anna back into the picture and create a new fantastic foursome. My other belief is that Marissa didn't die she went into a coma like Trey ending this season like the 2nd and beginning it like the 3rd. If Marissa is dead I don't think I'll want to watch the show anymore. Ryan and Marissa were the reason I continued watching the show without them and their problematic relationships it ends up like a daytime soap opera. And I know I would rather not watch TV when those are on. I fear the show is hanging in the balance of continuing to be successful or running flat into a wall.

The Graduates (#3.25)
ComedyFan201027 September 2014
Warning: Spoilers
They have the graduation and it is time to say good bye to the old high school days. Marissa decides to go work on a cruise ship with her dad. She helps Ryan out to get away from Volchek but he is mad that he can't talk to Marissa, so he follows them when Ryan brings Marissa to the airport and pushes their car off the cliff, an accident that Marissa doesn't survive.

Wow, a pretty awesome season finale. I was sad through most of it knowing that they all will be separated soon.

Marissa's death was so well done. Misha Barton wanted to leave the show and they gave her a pretty awesome, dramatic final scene which sure made most of the fans gasp and brought tears to their eyes. Marissa wasn't one off my favorite characters. Just like with Summer and Ryan I kind of loved/hated her. In some stories I though she was awesome, in others she really annoyed me. But she sure will be missed by me, was a special character. People here predicted that OC will be over after this, and it is true as net season is the final one and the shortest. But I kind of feel it has more to do with them graduating high school. I am actually curious how they plan to keep characters together as they are supposed to move.

The saddest episode of the whole season.
tweety_bird12919 May 2006
I think that everyone who has watched the third season of the OC can agree that it has been one of the saddest of the 3, but this last episode was probably the worst of them all. For those of you who have seen it, of course you know why, but for those who haven't I won't ruin it for you. I can't believe that this episode actually happened. Before I saw this episode, I was aware that someone would die, but I did not know who. When I saw who it was I was so very surprised. I really started crying. I advise that if you have never seen this episode and normally watch the O.C. that you watch it right away, as soon as you can. If you have never watched the O.C. before, I really advise that you do. The first time I saw it I was so blown away in amazement and from that day on it has been my most favorite show in the whole world. I just can't get enough of it.

The OC is doomed
fidoseptdido21 July 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I know it was Mischa's decision to leave the show coz she has a lot of movies to do but what about the fans???????????? Seriously, The OC is never gonna be the same it's gonna be crappy... I'm not gonna watch it, not without Marissa in it... Although she was depressed all the time, i loved herrrrrrrr n i'm gonna miss her... I heard Kaitlin is gonna be the new drama queen, n will try to be more like Marissa.. I'm guessing they're gonna repeat the whole stories again. Kaitlin will be like Marissa.. n if Ryan, Seth and Summer go to college then why is the show called OC? so if they didn't go..most probably Ryan will try to kill Volchok or something.. Anyway, season 4 is gonna have a really low rating n will lose a lot of viewers so i guess they should get Marissa even if it was like flashbacks or something.. i'd never watch the show without her coz it wont be The OC..

No way!!!!!!!!

Warning: Spoilers
what the hell did they do that for, i think i speak on behalf of every OC viewer when i say, no!!!!!!! Marissa is what made The OC what it is, big mistake. will lose viewers now! the whole fourth series will be based on Marissa's death now. why bother? bring her back somehow! brilliant episode though, had me crying my eyes out. i am gutted!! fair play to Mischa though she definitely has been the star of the show, easily. definitely wish her luck with her career! Ben Kenzie to rule the show from now, will have to be some good story lines to compete will Ryan and Marissa. reunite Trey, Dawn and Ryan maybe. can't wait for next series!!

Last Ever of The OC?
YasmineMohamed19 May 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Marissa dies? so does this mean its over for the OC? why kill her off, that damn Volchok should be the one going underground. Poor Ryan. I knew it was all getting to "happy families" for The OC. If there is going to be a new season of the OC, what "the college years" with just Seth and summer and some other random characters as they do? This by far has to be the most stomach turning episode yet, and yes girls it is more emotional than the episode where Ryan had to leave to Chino to take care of his fatherly duties (end of season 1) and I know some of you males out there shed a tear or two there. Lol. But on the real, if it is the end of the OC, then there are going to be a lot of upset viewers out there, i mean what else is there. One Tree Hill is really getting good, and Supernatural is good, and there is Prison Break, but still whats life without the OC? Marissa and Ryan are by the most favourable on-screen couple, so much drama. Don't you just love it.

all over again!!!
lauragore1 July 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Can i just say wow that episode was amazing, except i can't believe that Marissa was killed off!!! it was truly tearful, especially the way it showed Ryan from the previous episode in Tahiti, saving her then, except this time he couldn't. thats unbelievable, however its so predictable that the next season will all be about Ryan and his uncontrollable anger. I suppose it will again be a constant battle for the Cohen's and Ryan himself, to stay on the straight and narrow and stop him from seeking revenge. Upsettingly though Ryan was just getting sorted, going off to college, and him and Marissa seemed to be getting on better than when they were together. But maybe this precedes the next series as Ryan will be crushed and the big question will be "WILL RYAN RETURN TO HIS WICKED WAYS?!!" whatever happens, i hope volchuck realises what he's done, killed of the true fashion icon of the show and obviously everybody's favourite rebel Marissa. boo hoo.

***Spoiler and Theory***
the_myst6922 May 2006
Warning: Spoilers
OK so Marissa dies, which I was fully expecting after misha said she wanted to focus on other things, she didn't want to be type cast into a TV actress. (which Adam Brody seems to be avoiding since hes been in several movies since the OC maybes its because Misha isn't a very good actress) anyhow What I'm expecting, no one is going off to their respective colleges because they are all too shocked at marissa's death, instead they stay in the OC (which is why the show is named the OC because it takes place there not brown and berkley) and find jobs during that year and try to cope with marissa's death. As well marissa's little sister is going to be taking over marissa's spot, the 18 year old looking 14 year old...

And whats life without the OC? well you're that much closer to not looking too sad for depending on a TV show to give your life meaning.

she will not die
aserhat-124 May 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I believe that she will not die, she just got unconscious, if all of these comments on the net, and the comments of audience are all the same, she will be rescued. So, they just get the temperature of the audience, if it is OK, they will go on with different characters, but if not Marissa will come back. :) I know because most of the people I know will not watch the movie if she is not in it. But if Mischa has different projects after she showed herself, this will be her decision. Anyway, I mean the future of the movie depends of the people watching it. Personally, I wont be watching it without Marissa. Go Marissa go... After all of these I believe the movie is great with these cast, and after they all go to different universities, the cast will grow enormously. But still they can not get Marissa out of the cast. I do not know the start of the new season, but i guess it will be decided whether "kill" Marissa or not. And I want to know if Mischa has a role in some other movies. If she has, please let us know, so we can switch to that movie.

Omg
e-murfet9 July 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Omg!I still can't believe they killed Marissa off(i was crying for days!), the show will never be the same and I don't really like the idea of Katlin taking her place. I have to say I am relieved it wasn't Seth who was killed off (I heard someone was but didn't know who) because then there would be no comedy, however during the third season he has been less funny and more grumpy...and the drugs- what was that all about, so not the Seth we love! I think in the 4th season it would be really nice if everyone who's ever known Marissa would return for her funeral, like Alex, Oliver, Luke, DJ and maybe even Trey. However I think the show will probably loose a lot of its fans because Marissa was sooooooooo popular. Also I think this episode probably raked in a lot of viewers because my friends who don't normally watch it did and they too were crying with me. I can't wait for season 4, America's lucky, they get to see it before us Brits...grrrrr!LOL (let me know what happens plz)!

Marissa alive?
rakesh_n_r23 June 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Infortunaly i think Marissa is not coming back because on OC's website on Fox, they say that Marissa dies. Just check the summary of "the graduation" episode on Fox. Anyway, OC wont be the same without Misha. Hope many of you are right and she was just in coma. Let's wait for season 4 and check it out. I wasn't interested in OC, because there were other series like Lost and 24 (the best in my opinion), but i couldn't stop when i started, specially because there are situation that can happen with young people us. If season 4 starts with Marissa's sister as main character, I think that would be quite annoying, it would be too much and a complete change from the original OC that was so successful.

The Gratuates
sunshine_frog0224 May 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I cannot believe that Marissa is dead... The OC cannot be the same without Marissa! The Fab 4 are the main of the show, and Ryan and Marissa the most incredible couple on television I have seen... I just don't get why they killed Marissa. I heard that is was because of Mischa Barton, that she wanna leave the show and make some movies. But yesterday I read an interview with Josh, the creator, and he said that it was not Mischa who wanna leave, that they just killed of Marissa because of all the bad things who happens to her : that was the only solution. BUT I DISAGREE! It's not the solution!!! Please bring Marissa back in a coma! No Marissa, No OC!!!! I'm a biggest fan, and It won't be the same without her... Ryan & Marissa 4ever!!!!

New season, and season 3 DVD
genaewelch19 June 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I heard the show has been renewed for a 4th season, and that will air in November after baseball (I hate that!) I also heard season 3 is coming out on DVD Septemeber 30th, and I don't know if it will be re-aired this summer like Season 2 was last summer, and yes, Marissa is dead, she is not coming back. Which really sucks for me, because I love the "Core 4" but... I'm slowly coming to terms with it, my tears wont bring her back (Even though I've cried plenty of them) and also apparently Mischa didn't want to be on the show anymore, she didn't "fit in" she said. Or at least she didn't feel like she felt in. I believe she was too Hollywood, and the rest of the cast was more laid-back, not always in the spotlight. But anyway, that is that. I cant wait for Season 4.... which is 4 long months away. Hope this helps anyone.

Is she or Isn't she?
muneesa2 July 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Is it for certain that Marissa is dead?? as the way it ended in a real cliff hanger! I mean she could of gone in to a comer? Remember the end of season 2 when Tray got shot? we all thought he was dead! I remember in a recent interview Mischa Barton said she was unsure if she wanted to continue in the 'O.C'.

The O.C is all about Ryan, Marissa, Seth and Summer without one of those it just won't seem right.

If she did die then the O.C will never be the same again!! Well I guess we will just have to wait and see.

If anyone knows any future story lines then please keep me posted.

Great series I don't know how i'll survive until season 4!!!

The O.C With Out Marissa
prrra25 September 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Why?? Marissa can't die!!! Non of Ryan, Seth, Summer and Marissa can die. They are the hearts of the show. When season 4 are coming i will probably stop see on the show. They are going to lose millions of viewers because of this. The O.C has been so good so far but now I'm not so sure about it.

Perhaps Mischa Barton didn't wanted to be in the show more. But why didn't someone persuade her. But now it's like this but I hope more than I want too have Marissa left in the show. I hope it all was just was a dream and she wake up next season and everything is as it was.

The O.C. Season 4
x_diamondsontheinside_x29 October 2006
Warning: Spoilers
After Marissas death (Which isn't a question, she DID die.), I think the writers are going to have a hard time keeping my attention, unless they keep it alive, and with everyone going their separate ways, that might not be an easy task. I knew she was going to die, thanks to a friend who had seen it before me, and told me, but it was just horrible timing. Her && Ryan were finally talking && hanging out again... Kaitlyn, Julie && Marissa were becoming a family again, Marissa && Summer made up... Everything was going good for her. It was sad to see her life finally working out in her favor for once, and then see it all thrown away. A good episode, tragic ending. And it keeps you hyped up for the next season! Happy Watching!

I probably wont watch the fourth season of this great series
mickeforsberg5 August 2006
Warning: Spoilers
You know, even though I did the mistake of reading about Marissas death, I was still very surprised that it went like it did. Everyone seemed so happy 30 minutes in, then like 40 minutes in, the happiness turned into fear and caused a very dramatic moment. I can't believe that Mischa Barton wont be in the cast-list next season. The whole show is about the 4 teenagers the most, if one leave, it's worse than ever. It was supposed to be Seth and Summer, Ryan and Marissa! In the last 10 minutes of the episode, Ryan takes Marissa to the airport, because she was supposed to live with her father for a year. But along on the empty road comes Vultchek, Marissas ex boyfriend. He is angry because Marissa didn't listen to him, so he rammed their car off the road, down the hill. Ryan gets out of the car which was up-side-down, he drags out the severely injured Marissa. Her head had taken a hit on the right side. It was only minutes until she died, in Ryan's arms
