Masters of disguise.

The Flintstones was great years ago watching as a kid. This episode was outstanding for the first one. An all-star cast of Fred Flintstone (Alan Reed), Barney Rubble (Mel Blanc), Wilma (Jean Vander Pyl), and Betty (Bea Benaderet). The writing was really strong with lots of laughs. The witty ways the stone age is incorporated always cracked me up. I especially enjoyed Jean Vander Pyl singing opera, monkeys using their tails as bowling pin spotters, the black silhouette of the Flintstone flyer at night, the puttering of the Flintstone flyer engine when it was operated by manpower, and how fearful Fred and Barney are of their wives. I'm looking forward to future episodes when many classic TV actor's voices will be used.

A Most Auspicious Beginning

The ideal introduction to our beloved Fred and Barney's madcap adventures features the incentive Barney trying his hand at aviation, and Fred's predeliction for fabulation.
