Billy is fed up with his Sister in law, and is keen to get her partnered up, when Alvin and Smiler refuse, Crowcroft, the flower stranger is suggested.
It's a funny enough story, the setup is pretty good, the realisation is a little bit on the average side, a few funny moments, but overall a little lacking, not even Howard and Marina get their usual funny scenes. It has one saving grace....
.. Roy Barraclough as always is good fun, Crowcroft is definitely a bizarre character, pretty dapper in appearance, but definitely sprightly, clearly up for a challenge thinking that he can seduce the widow Batty.
What's going on with Barry lately, he seems to have been sidelined somewhat, he's always so far away from the action. Clegg was absent for most of this episode, it's allowed Alvin to become more involved.
I found myself badly wanting fruitcake after this, there is something about Sunday teatime and fruitcake.
Decent, 6/10.
