Too low budget to succeed

Warning: Spoilers
THE HUMAN TRACE is very low budget crime thriller about an undercover cop investigating a series of mysterious murders in a small American town. There's a conspiracy angle to the story and elements of interest dotted throughout, but the whole thing is so cheap and amateurish that it's not a film you can take seriously.

Josh Sumner takes the lead role and doesn't convince as a detective for a moment, either in appearance or performance. He kips in a house and talks a lot to people, and that's about it. Attempts at scene-setting are limited and the film has little to no atmosphere for what should be a suspenseful production. It's hardly worth the effort to tune in, in other words.
