A new boy, Michael Doyle, has been moved to form One Alpha after getting into trouble in his previous form group.
He arrives just in time for the school council voting campaign - and puts himself forward as the class candidate for Year One, along with Tucker and Ann.
Ann manages to win the class vote - but how will she do across the whole of year one, especially as she doesn't seem to have a manifesto that attracts the boys. However, after consulting with Mr Mitchell and art teacher Miss Mather, she comes up with what she hopes will be a vote-winning idea. But will it be enough to make her Year One representative?
This is a fun episode with Tucker up to his usual tomfoolery, and not exactly getting off on the right foot with sneaky-looking new boy Doyle. Mr Mitchell is at his diplomatic best, and there's gossip too about he and Miss Mather.
