Nudity and violence

Warning: Spoilers
In this episode, a team from the island prison is sent after Lucy to eliminate her. After the misunderstanding at the end of episode 1, Nyu/Lucy is at the beach (with noble intentions, as we later find out in a very touching ending).

We are also introduced to a young, homeless girl and her dog and a gung-ho soldier who enjoys to kill. Lucky for Lucy/Nyu that he enjoys playing with his prey a little too much... I have a feeling both the soldiers character and the little girl will play a bigger role in future episodes.

Also interesting to see how "Nyu" is so innocent that she seems completely indifferent to being nude (not typical Japanese) while Lucy seems to harbor some deep resentment and hatred.

There is more tension between Yuka and Nyu/Kohta.

Not Good

The takeaways from this episode are that masculinity in men is bad and femininity in men is good, whatever those things mean. If you want proof of this just examine the way Kota is made out to be the symbol of a model male yet is considered completely spineless. Potential is really wasted here. Lucy is also potrayed to be a symbol of innocence yet her body count is more impressive than every character in "Elfen Lied" combined.
