Ed Helms, Jake Johnson, Hannibal Buress, Jon Hamm and Jeremy Renner began production on the film, Tag, as friends pursuing a lifelong game of tag. Production is currently shooting in Atlanta for the new comedy Tag, directed by Jeff Tomsic (Comedy Central’s “Broad City”) for New Line Cinema.
The film’s starring ensemble cast is led by Ed Helms (The “Hangover” movies, “We’re the Millers”), Jake Johnson (TV’s “New Girl”), and Hannibal Buress (“Neighbors”), with Jon Hamm (“Baby Driver,” TV’s “Mad Men”) and Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner (“The Hurt Locker, “The Town”).
For one month every year, five highly competitive friends hit the ground running in a no-holds-barred game of tag they’ve been playing since the first grade—risking their necks, their jobs and their relationships to take each other down with the battle cry “You’re It!” This year, the game coincides with the...

Following the global success of 2014’s “Godzilla” and this year’s “Kong: Skull Island,” comes the next chapter in Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ cinematic MonsterVerse: an epic action adventure that pits Godzilla against some of the most popular monsters in pop culture history.
The film, which began principal photography on June 19, is being directed by Michael Dougherty (“Krampus”), and stars Oscar nominees Vera Farmiga (“Up in the Air,” “The Conjuring” films), and Ken Watanabe (“The Last Samurai”) and Sally Hawkins (“Blue Jasmine”), both reprising their “Godzilla” roles; Kyle Chandler (“The Wolf of Wall Street,” “Manchester by the Sea”); Millie Bobby Brown (“Stranger Things”) in her feature film debut; Bradley Whitford (“Get Out”); Thomas Middleditch (HBO’s “Silicon Valley”); Charles Dance (HBO’s “Game of Thrones”); O’Shea Jackson Jr. (“Straight Outta Compton”); Aisha Hinds (“Star Trek Into Darkness”); and Golden Globe nominee Zhang Ziyi (“Memoirs of a Geisha,” “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”).
The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.
Dougherty directs from a script he wrote with Zach Shields. The film is being produced by Mary Parent, Alex Garcia, Brian Rogers and Thomas Tull, with Barry H. Waldman, Zach Shields, Yoshimitsu Banno and Kenji Okuhira serving as executive producers and Alexandra Mendes co-producing for Legendary.
Behind the scenes, Dougherty’s creative team includes director of photography Lawrence Sher, whose past credits include “War Dogs” and “Godzilla,” for which he handled additional photography; production designer Scott Chambliss (“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” “Star Trek Into Darkness”); editor Roger Barton (“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” the “Transformers” films); costume designer Louise Migenbach (the “X-Men” and “Hangover” films); and Oscar-winning VFX supervisor Guillaume Rocheron (“Godzilla,” “Ghost in the Shell,” and part of the Oscar-winning team behind “Life of Pi ”).
Filming is taking place mainly in Atlanta, Georgia. A presentation of Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, the film is currently scheduled for release in March 2019, and will be distributed in 3D and 2D and in select IMAX theaters by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, except in Japan, where it will be distributed by Toho Co., Ltd.

Production begins this week on location in Atlanta for the new comedy “Tag,” directed by Jeff Tomsic (Comedy Central’s “Broad City”) for New Line Cinema.

But he knows they’re coming…and he’s ready. Based on a true story, “Tag” shows how far some guys will go to be the last man standing.
The film also stars Annabelle Wallis (“The Mummy”), Rashida Jones (TV’s “Parks and Recreation”), Isla Fisher (“Now You See Me”) and Leslie Bibb (“Iron Man 2”).
Tomsic directs from a screenplay written by Mark Steilen (TV’s “Mozart in the Jungle”) and Rob McKittrick (“Waiting”), based on the Wall Street Journal article entitled “It Takes Planning, Caution to Avoid Being It.” The film is produced by Todd Garner, Mark Steilen and Sean Robins, with Hans Ritter serving as executive producer. The creative filmmaking team includes director of photography Larry Blanford, editor Josh Crockett, production designer David Sandefur, and costume designer Denise Wingate.
“Tag” is set for a June 29, 2018, release.

When it comes to television, few shows dominated 2016 as much as Netflix’s Stranger Things did. Aside from just being very well made and executed, it introduced the world to a bunch of young actors who proved to be incredibly enjoyable to watch, and kept viewers hooked with some truly thrilling twists and turns that had everyone talking. It was a wild ride the whole way through, that’s for sure, but it did leave us with a ton of questions and unfortunately, we won’t be getting any answers for quite some time.
That’s because the show won’t return for season 2 until October, and with security being amped up to prevent plot leaks, those hoping to find out some of the secrets in advance might be left disappointed. However, that doesn’t mean we won’t get a few goodies along the way, and one such thing...

No doubt Winston Churchill would scoff at our ignorance, but we still believe a historical drama, like Netflix’s “The Crown,” can be spoiled.
It’s that we’re worried about learning what will happen to Elizabeth II or whether or not Princess Margaret ever married Peter Townsend, but…Ok, yeah, we kind of are wondering about the latter point. And the reason why we’re so curious is because of how well Peter Morgan has told the story of the United Kingdom’s royal family. No matter the reason why we remain unaware of exactly what happened to the central figures of this story, Morgan has weaved such a compelling yarn we’d rather let him finish it than read what happened online.

Captain America: Civil War is already packed with superheroes, villains, and other supporting characters, but if you thought the 2016 blockbuster couldn’t possibly squeeze in a few more players, you’re wrong. The Walking Dead, Season 5, Episode 8: “Coda”
Directed by Ernest Dickerson
Written by Angela Kang
Airs Sundays at 9pm Et on AMC
While the beginning of The Walking Dead’s fifth season saw the Terminus threat dispatched with extreme prejudice by the group, another foe soon emerged in the form of a competing group in Atlanta’s Grady Memorial Hospital, who insisted on an underhanded debt system and an old-fashioned power hierarchy to maintain their version of structure. With Rick and his group capturing three of their police officers and getting ready to square off with Dawn and her force, this week’s midseason finale focuses on the results of that encounter, as well as Father Gabriel’s attempts to make sense of the world outside the church. This results in a strong episode that brings certain character actions to a head in...

As we approached the midseason finale of The Walking Dead, one question hung over the proceedings: What could happen in the episode to make Norman Reedus cry? The actor, better known to millions of fans as Daryl Dixon, the laconic, sardonic and resourceful member of our core group of survivors, was said to be quite moved by the contents of tonight’s episode “Coda,” but what could that mean? Who was dying, and in what context would they die? Would the showdown between Team Rick and the increasingly cagey crew of Grady Memorial Hospital be caked in blood, or was there another danger waiting for everyone in Atlanta, something quite unanticipated?
Let’s begin with the stupid. Gabriel had escaped his church and headed to the nearby school, where he started losing it amongst the remains of the former camp site of the Terminus survivors and the remains of Bob’s taken leg.

The Walking Dead has never been known to pull punches, so why should the midseason finale be any different? It won't be. "Coda," the episode airing Sunday, Nov. 30 on AMC, will require two things, according to executive producer Gale Anne Hurd. "I would say make sure that you have a seatbelt on your couch and a lot of tissues handy," Hurd told E! News. Gulp. The fifth season of The Walking Dead has seen the ragtag group of survivors reunite, split up and then embark on a mission to rescue two of their own from a hospital run by Dawn Lerner (Christine Woods), a (slightly unhinged) police officer in Atlanta. When we last saw Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), Daryl Dixon (Norman...

“Everything costs something, right?”
The mystery of Beth Greene’s whereabouts has been solved.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again; The Walking Dead does well with episodes featuring fewer characters that we know. “Slabtown”, written by Matthew Negrete and Channing Powell, is a testament to the improvement of the writing ever since Scott M. Gimple took over as show-runner. That the hour maintains the quality and entertainment of previous episodes without Rick and the gang, is good news. Putting Beth, and only Beth, in the spotlight back in season two would have been ill advised, but ever since last season’s “Still,” Beth is a character we’ve all come to know and love. Of course “Still” is one of those episodes mentioned above,...

It's a dark fairy tale this week in The Walking Dead. Here's our spoiler-filled review...
This review contains spoilers.
5.4 Slabtown
If you had told me in season two that some of the best episodes of The Walking Dead would prominently feature Carol and Beth, I would have thought you were a crazy person. After all, three seasons ago, Beth was cutting her wrists and lurking in the background of scenes like a ghostly-white female T-Dog, and Carol was pretty much waiting to be killed off in a cast change. How much things change in the course of a couple of seasons. Beth hasn't quite become a Carol, but she's become a useful member of the ensemble, thanks to Emily Kinney's singing voice and her chemistry with Norman Reedus in the excellent Still and Carol has pretty much been the Mvp of both season 4 and season 5.

It’s such a pertinent question to the ongoing storyline of The Walking Dead yet it’s barely been addressed in nearly three episodes: What the heck happened to Beth? Even Beth’s half-sister Maggie went off with Abraham and Co. on the mission to Washington last week without so much as saying to anyone, “Hey, if anyone finds Beth tell her…”
We know that Daryl remembers though, and at the end of episode two, he and Carol took off after the mysterious blue car with the painted white cross on its back window. This week, we find out where that car comes from, where it took Beth, and all while getting another abject lesson in how the best intentions of good Samaritans can be tainted and corrupted in a post-apocalyptic world.
Long story short, Beth ended up a Grady Memorial Hospital in the heart of not-so-beautiful downtown Atlanta. A...

The Walking Dead ended last week with Daryl (Norman Reedus) returning from the woods with an unknown someone. Instead of that someone being revealed during Sunday night’s episode, The Walking Dead zeroed in its focus on Beth.
'The Walking Dead' Recap
Beth Greene’s (Emily Kinney) fate has been uncertain ever since she was picked up by a white car and went missing. It’s now been revealed that she was taken to Atlanta’s Grady Memorial Hospital with stitches on her cheek and a cast on her hand. Dr. Steven Edwards and Dawn Lerner (Christine Woods) pay her a visit in her room and tell her that they’d rescued her from a zombie attack – which means she owes them.
At some point in the near future, Beth begins to work off the debt she owes. Among her various tasks are disposing of zombie victims down an elevator shaft,...

[Spoiler Alert: Read on only if you have already watched Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead.] To protect and to serve. And to bust you in the face whenever she damn well feels like it. Such is the motto of Officer Dawn Lerner, whom we met on Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead. Dawn runs “the system” at Grady Memorial Hospital, where people like Beth Greene are brought in, given medial treatment and as well as food and board — but for a price. In just one episode, we saw Dawn belittle Beth, strike her multiple times in the mug, and sentence Beth’s new Bff Noah to a beatdown as well. But guess what? The...

[Spoiler Alert: Read on only if you have already watched Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead.] Beth woke up in a hospital Sunday night on The Walking Dead and found herself surrounded by people hitting in her in the face, sexually assaulting her with lollipops, and tricking her into killing patients. But there was one person who got her back. Fellow orderly Noah took the blame (and the beating that came with it) for that dead patient, and the two hatched an escape plan together. However, only Noah made it. We spoke to former Everybody Hates Chris and Go On star Tyler James Williams about being the latest addition to the Walking Dead universe and whether...

Intense music drama Whiplash, already a big winner at Sundance and the Deauville American Film Festival earlier this year, should drum up plenty of audience interest in its debut this weekend, even though it faces a crowded specialty market that also features several other notable newcomers, including the Bill Murray comedy St. Vincent, Hilary Swank‘s You’re Not You and Jeremy Renner‘s Kill the Messenger. All are what I’d call “big” specialty releases, with big names attached that should attract big attention.
The weekend also includes what I’d call some “small” releases, including documentaries The Overnighters (another Sundance winner) and I Am Ali, about the former heavyweight boxing champion, alongside the Mormon Church-backed Meet the Mormons. All will be clawing for attention in a market that’s seen more than 30 films debut in the past three weeks.

In this weekend’s specialty box-office debuts, IFC Films hopes to replicate the critical and commercial success of Michael Winterbottom’s first amusing little travelogue/talker of a feature, The Trip, with a semi-sequel, The Trip To Italy. Samuel L. Jackson is in final negotiations to co-star with Hailee Steinfeld in Kyle Newman's indie "Barely Lethal" at Rat Entertainment, Rko Pictures and Hopscotch Pictures.
The story follows a 16-year-old international assassin yearning for a 'normal' adolescence who fakes her own death and enrolls as a senior in a suburban high school. Jackson will play her mentor who trains her in the program. [Source: Variety]

Jonny Weston ("Chasing Mavericks") and Sofia Black-d’Elia ("Gossip Girl") are in negotiations to star in Dean Israelite's $12 million found footage thriller "Almanac" at Paramount Pictures and Platinum Dunes.

Chicago – ABC attempts to pass the sequined, bedazzled baton from one glittery soap comedy to another as “Gcb” (based on the book “Good Christian Bitches” by Kim Gatlin) premieres tonight as a clear successor to the soon-to-end “Desperate Housewives.” Even more over-the-top than the girls of “Dh” were to start (even Marc Cherry would have said an opening scene involving road head leading to a fatal car crash was a bit much), “Gcb” feels like later seasons of the ABC hit when it went from critical darling to guilty pleasure. You’re going to feel Real guilty watching this one.

It’s official: This Tuesday’s episode of Glee — which, coincidentally, finds Mercedes tackling Whitney Houston‘s beloved ballad, “I Will Always Love You” — will pay tribute to the late musical icon.
A series spokesperson tells TVLine that while the installment was shot long before Houston’s tragic death last Saturday, Glee producers have dedicated “Heart” to the fallen singer by placing a card in the end credits.

• Bradley Whitford will guest star in an upcoming episode of Parks and Recreation, Huffington Post reports, playing Pawnee’s departing city councilman whose seat Leslie is vying for.

The Matthew Lillard comeback continues; EW reports that the actor, who came back in a big way last year with a supporting turn in The Descendants, is in talks to join the Clint Eastwood-starrer Trouble with the Curve. The movie follows an aging baseball scout (Eastwood) who copes with his own oncoming blindness while heading to Atlanta to scope out an up and coming player for his team. Lillard’s role will be that of a rival scout, who I assume will also be gunning for the same player, and back in November it was announced that Amy Adams would be playing Eastwood’s daughter.
The Wrap also reports that TV actor Joe Massingill, who has appeared in shows such as Glee has joined the film in an unknown role. The movie is slated to begin production in March with Robert Lorenz at the helm, who handled second unit...

Following Lars von Trier's Melancholia (planet Earth destroyed by a giant meteor), the Scottish Perfect Sense (strange virus robs everybody of their senses one by one, starting with taste) and the British thriller Retreat (military guinea pig carrying incurable plague descends on remote island), Contagion is the fourth movie this month with an end-of-the-world scenario, all reflecting no doubt our current anxieties.

In The Mole Man of Belmont Avenue (which has to be one of the catchier names on the indie horror scene these days), we meet down on their luck brothers Jarman (Laflamboy) and Marion (Bradecich). Just back from a failed stint raising llamas, Jarman has just returned to the rapidly depopulating Chicago building managed by deadpan brother Marion who's got his own struggles to contend with.
See, the gas has just been shut off in the building and Marion's been left to deal with the fact that their building's electricity is being stolen from a church next door. The only tenants that remain are a generally disagreeable bunch including a couple of cranky oldsters (including horror icon Robert Englund), a prostitute and an apartment full of stoners.
As if all of that wasn't enough to deal with, the brothers suddenly realize that all the pets in the building are disappearing...

Lindsay Lohan showed up in court last July with the F-word painted on her nails, and it wasn't lost on Judge Stephanie Sautner before she sentenced the former child star to four months in jail and 480 hours of community service for violating probation. After posting the $75,000 bail — but not before donning an orange jumpsuit and spending about four hours in jail — LiLo said she was "blindsided" by the sentence, calling it "ridiculous" and "f**ked up." Now she's angry.

In the sweetly offbeat "Cedar Rapids," Ed Helms takes on his first starring role in a film. Helms plays Tim Lippe, a good-natured and slightly naïve insurance salesman who leaves his small town in Wisconsin for the first time when he's sent to a sales convention in Iowa. Tim is a sheltered creature who has never flown on a plane before, let alone had to deal with the kinds of debauchery—including adultery and bribery—he encounters on his work weekend. Along the way, Tim emerges from his shell with the help of his roommates (John C. Reilly and Isaiah Whitlock Jr.), a seductive peer (Anne Heche), and the local prostitute (Alia Shawkat). And though Tim begins the journey somewhat overwhelmed (he exclaims upon his arrival in Cedar Rapids, "It's like I came to Barbados or somewhere!"), he soon realizes he can't stay stuck in a rut for the rest of his life.

The third episode of the so far, so good "The Walking Dead" is entitled "Tell It to the Frogs", and AMC has released a sneak peek of what we can expect next Sunday. In addition, actor Steven Yeun (Glenn) discusses the pleasures of receiving a walker back massage, describes the smell of prosthetic intestines, and relates the grossest thing he's ever seen.
Official description of Episode 103 - "Tell It to the Frogs":
Rick makes a decision to go back to Atlanta to retrieve the bag of guns and save a man’s life. Lori and Shane must deal with the surprising return of someone they thought was dead.
"The Walking Dead" is based on Robert Kirkman's popular comic series. It chronicles the months and years following a zombie apocalypse. Frank Darabont is the project's writer, director of the pilot, and exec producer with Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert also exec producing.

As 2010.s movie year marches toward the big final holiday season Hollywood releases another attempt to capture the hearts(and cash) of romantic comedy fans. Veteran TV Director Greg Burlanti.s Life As We Know It is Katherine Heigl.s second release this year(the other being the Ashton Kutcher co-starrer The Killers). Clearly she.s attempting to find a spot in the genre recently dominated by Sandra Bullock and Julia Roberts None since her movie break-thru role in Knocked Up can come close to these actresses.s rom-com classics. This film is no exception.

Warner Bros Pictures has released their film schedule for the upcoming fall/holiday season. The one that I found the most curious was this first photo of Matt Damon and Bryce-Dallas Howard in Clint Eastwood’s Hereafter. Variety’s article from 2008 said, “it is described as in the vein of The Sixth Sense.” I’m very interested to see what Eastwood does with this genre.
The other films in the WB press kit are The Town, Legend Of The Guardians: The Owls Of Gahoole, Life As We Know It, Hereafter, Due Date, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows – Part 1, and Yogi Bear.

Ellen Lewis on Michael ShannonWhen I was asked to write about an actor I love, Michael Shannon immediately jumped into my mind. It probably stems from the fact that I'm from Chicago, where Michael lived and worked for many years. In 1998 Paula Muzik, an agent in Chicago, called to tell me about Michael, who was coming to New York in the play "Killer Joe." There was an intensity and disturbing quality to Michael's performance in "Killer Joe." Combined with his physical presence and dark humor, he slightly frightened you. He was unlike any actor I had seen before, and it was exciting to think about the roles one could try him for.Years later I was casting "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead" for Sidney Lumet. Sid's office at the time was at Sound One. Casting for Sidney, as other casting directors can attest, is an amazing experience—and unusual,...

We've gotten to know Lee DeWyze, 24, a bit on "American Idol" this season. We've learned that he struggled a bit in high school, used to work at a paint store and that he can make even an old "Idol" chestnut like "Hallelujah" feel brand-new again.
But the one thing nobody has talked about, that his friends and family say is actually one of Lee's strongest skills, is his ability to improvise lyrics on the spot. There's not really room on the show to freestyle, but if you believe his karaoke pal Brian Friedopfer, 27, Lee can throw down off the top of the dome with the best of them.
"He always had [his guitar] in his car or if we were at a bar during the summer ... he'll bust it out [and] we'll have sing-a-longs.

NBC is finalizing a deal for a pilot order to a single-camera comedy project from "Mad About You" star and co-creator Paul Reiser and Warner Bros. TV.
The project, which Reiser penned on spec, is said to be in the vein of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and star Reiser in a show based on his real-life family life.
Reiser, who has penned at least one additional script, is exec producing with Jonathan Shapiro ("Life").
Since "Mad" ended its seven-year run on NBC in 1992, Reiser has made a couple of attempts to return to series television, mainly behind the camera.
He wrote two comedy pilots for CBS, an untitled 2002 project starring Bobby Cannavale and the 2007 project "Atlanta" starring Freddie Prinze Jr. He was also behind microseries "Lovebites" for TBS.

It's a noble tradition. Think of Rex Harrison in "My Fair Lady," Richard Burton in "Camelot," Anthony Quinn in "Zorba," Katharine Hepburn in "Coco," and Lauren Bacall in "Applause." And the list goes on. When accomplished actors who are untrained and inexperienced in the demanding disciplines of musical theater courageously jump off the diving board to leap headfirst into the genre, it can be a frightening yet exhilarating swim. The challenges are enormous, but the rewards can be sweet.Fresh off his five-year run on ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," Emmy-nominated stage and screen actor T.R. The story behind the making of Delgo is heartwarming and inspiring. Fathom Studios, based in Atlanta, Georgia, has been creating commercial computer animation for more than ten years. When they decided to produce their own feature-length narrative film, they did it completely independent of the Hollywood studio system. They labored long and hard with a much smaller budget and a much smaller staff than the animation behemoths. They bravely posted "digital dailes" throughout production, a kind of progressive, online series of "making of" snippets. They recruited a slew of actors with name recognition -- Freddie Prinze Jr., Jennifer Love Hewitt, Val Kilmer, Malcolm McDowell, Louis Gossett Jr., Michael Clarke Duncan, Burt Reynolds, Chris Kattan, and the late Anne Bancroft in her last performance -- to voice the characters.

In the last week I have got so many emails, phone calls and messages asking, "Why haven't you spoken out on Lionsgate and The Midnight Meat Train Dollar Theater Scandal?" No one associated with the film wants to officially go on record with the true reason as to why, but to me it is plain and simple. It isn't a mainstream film. It is completely normal for films to have a limited release and then go on to DVD, when the studio thinks they will lose money on a wider release. Sometimes the films do better than expected (either because of a lot of hype or because the film is actually good) and move on to a wider release. But, none of that is the reason for all the hysteria over The Midnight Meat Train. The number one complaint is because the film is being released to discount second run...
