Michael Chiklis!!!

Warning: Spoilers
Season 6 just keeps getting better!! This episode's rating of 8 is too low, in my opinion. "The New Guy" is perhaps one of the most well-written episodes thus far.

So many parallels between the strike team and the gang of one-niners Vic is searching for. Corrine's dream was an interesting tidbit as well. There's a mounting stress for the whole episode, and when it finally explodes at the end, it's a sight to see.

Chiklis gives perhaps his best performance yet. I watched his breakdown at the end in complete awe. We at last get to see what Lem's death has done to him. This is an awesome episode.

Great episode character wise

Warning: Spoilers
Great pace of a episode. We get to see Alex O'Loughlin grand entrance to the Barn and Farmington as a replacement of '' Vic Mackey ''. Everyone has a solid plot in this episode. Vic plays Hiatt, cause he needs his job, he also needs to stay on top of Claudette , San Marcos case unsolved , Aceveda putting some pressure on crimestats. This also puts Shane in a position of also being threatened, Shane doesn't want to see any new guy taking Lem's spot , also that brings him a short distant memory and guilt of killing him over nothing.

What is a classic setup here , Hiatt arrives in the middle of the shoot out , Claudette introduces Hiatt to Vic but strike team takes reigns and he has to sit this thing out , Hiatt seriously saying to Claudette did he just leave me here ??? Haha. Then we get to see a short scene of him arriving to the diner with Lem's shotgun. Nobody seems happy , I also guess the audience who watched this the first time. Ronnie says the exact thing that came to my mind '' We don't need another babysit us in diapers ''

Memorable performances take place when Shane is confronting Hiatt, then heading out of the station crying over Lem's passing to Vic, but at the same time he has to keep his secret. He will keep covering his corrupt ass !

Downfall of Shane , dating with a 18 year old black girl, him confronting Moses of dating a tweener pussy, that also means he is cheating over Mara who is pregnant again , making the situation twice as worse !

Vic's breakdown in the end of the hospital, Corrinne coming to the clubhouse in the cold open and talking with the strike team about the dream she saw about Lem and how he liked his burgers :( . That sets up the last scene so well. He couldn't save Vantes from the gang beef he starts punching the hospital wall and chair against the glass. Lem's loss has took another part of Vic and the dream sequence was the trigger.

Michael Chiklis is amazing.

We understand why Vic has so much pain.

This episode gives a new cool character.

The case & plot was very good with how it is related to the characters.

Claudette as leader is so cool.

Ending makes me cry because I know what it means for Vic.

9.5/10.

Alternate episode title: Vicky Turns into a Drama King
GoodErsatz8 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Super tough guy Vicky Mackey (all 5-foot-4 of him) destroys a room in the hospital at the end of this otherwise decent episode.

Maybe the vapours got to him, but the apparently teenage level of emotional trauma leads to a very disingenuous, ridiculous, hilariously histrionic over-the-top scene where Lil Vicky gets so mad he scares all his castmates at Corinne's hospital by throwing furniture and breaking things. Because that is what we *all* do when we get upset, right?

Hollywood's starter kit for showing someone who gets angry:

* Breaks glass (check!)

* Crushes lamps (always!)

* Screams nonsensically (You betcha! I do this one every time the drive thru gets my order wrong)

* Punches *HOLES IN THE WALL* (Of course - check!)

Thanks for reading
