I love watching cooking shows, but if I see another host with cute hair, I change the channel

Cool show...but seems impossible to win
jitsuka-298-8893119 April 2021
I've watched the majority of the episodes and I like the show.... BUT...the end challenge is almost never one by the challenger. It seems almost biased towards the existing Fire Master chef. It's becoming a joke to watch. Challengers have better executed dishes....get the judges compliments on the most dishes.....and then lose.

Does the contestant ever win .... no
bluecat-9235717 May 2020
Just started to watch this show during covid lockdown , not much on, like the beginning with the contestant chefs going against each other , hate the judging "is this how you like your lamb chops cooked what is he/ she going to say no I screwed up, burnt the hell out of them , but yum yum . Then the end competition with the "pro" chef up against the winning chef who won a portable napoleon grill , gee thanks not even full size lol, go against each other, well does the contestant ever win the "big" prize nope not since I have watched , never so annoying , do they not want to give the prize money away, the judging drives me crazy also. Why do they ask who cooked which meal, just say the winner fps. Then reveal .

Judging is not blind or impartial...

The best meal should be awarded BEFORE you ask who created what dish or what's the point. The judging is messed up and holds no value otherwise.

I love this show!!

I love this show!! I wish we had it in the states when it's on in Canada. I read reviews.. people are cruel! I love this show.. and it's more honest in judging than many other shows! Host is great! Judges are truthful and let the fires flame up!! Come to America!!

I love all the judges.. Both from Canada and United States.

The contestants are all unique in their own rights .. some are more Barbecue and many love grilling.

I love the concept of choosing ,at the last round, the winner of the last game gets choose between one or the other main ingredient.. it can always bite you in the butt! Lol.

Grilling and barbecue are different skills!
reelfish-5032114 July 2019
The show is somewhat enjoyable. You see different chefs using multiple grilling styles. The misstep is that some people on the show refer to grilling as barbecue. You be the judge. Some people also think beans should go in chili.

Judges and host SUCK
cliffrmow29 July 2022
You need to get better judges like chef Eddie that have personality!! Also the host needs to get rid of that top not, maybe it's just a Canadian thing!! Also I never see a good dish in the first 2 rounds so give them a little more time or find some better chefs.

Can Food Network EVER make something new?
kate-harvie2 June 2021
As charming as host Dylan Benoit may be, two of the "judges" on this program are described with their first attribute as a "Food Network personality." That says as much about the commerce-driven, reality TV non-creativity that fuels most network television as it does about what viewers (sadly) seek. This is a filmed outside, three contestants instead of four, condescending game show bit that has kept "Chopped" on the air for however many seasons. While ego is a huge part of cheffing and restauranteur'ing, legit cooking is about joy, learning, and culture as it is about "look how great I can do this". We don't need more competition shows.

Contestants almost never win... only judges do.
mfraboni-489993 December 2023
I like this show but the dumbest part of the show is the end competition where the last contestant goes up against on of the judges. Out of the many episodes, the contestant only wins maybe 1 or 2 times. Majority of the time it's the Judge that wins. To be honest, I think this is either them trying to save money (not paying out the $10,000) or boost judges ego (particularly "Chef" Amy Mills as she "competes" the most of the episodes). If they want to improve the show, remove the judges competition and keep it 3 rounds but make the first round an advantage round with no elimination. Another option is to add another contestant (4 people), and keep it three rounds.

The judge is unsanitary & disgusting!
ice_magic14 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
In one episode I watched yesterday shows the judge licking his fingers, then right after touching ready to eat foods with his bare hands! In what world that he lives in in this acceptable. Passing off his diseases to others who eat food from him! Send him back to take a course on sanitation. No excuses for him, if the show would have had an half-assed proper editor would have edit that scene out. Would not want to eat food from him!
