As with other foreign series aired under the Walter Presents umbrella, this series starts out on PBS Passport with this episode from Season Two, and not even that season's first episode.
Except for maybe some background information about the two main characters, this doesn't affect the enjoyment of this two-art story involving killings that are, to say the least, bizarre. (Sort of like a mini-rehash of the film Seven.)
The main inspector is professional and I liked that he did not patronize the local gendarme who was clearly in over his head with the unusual murders.
If I had a small gripe it was the constant smoking of the female detective, and how she casually litters her spent butts everywhere (a big grip for me in real life.)
