Everyone knows Mila Kunis as a brilliant comedy performer, because her name is strongly associated with such sitcoms, as That '70s Show with her role of the hilarious Jackie Burkhart and Family Guy, where she voices Meg, the eldest child of the Griffins.
After the actress’ roles in Friends with Benefits (2011), Ted (2012) and Bad Moms (2016), which are all comedies, it’s hard to imagine her in a dramatical setting. However, she totally breaks the canon with the 2020 shocking movie, now climbing Netflix’s top.
The film’s plot revolves around Kunis’ Molly, a 31-year-old drug addict on her 15th attempt at sobriety. It may sound really desperate, but this time she’s really willing to stop using heroin, and she’s trying to convince not only the audience, but her own estranged mother Deb (played by the accomplished Glenn Close) of that.

Arlene Nelson will direct a documentary series on Indian Women’s Premier League cricket team U.P. Warriorz, it was revealed on the sidelines of the Asian TV Forum and Market (Atf).
The men’s Indian Premier League (Ipl) is one of the most lucrative properties in world sport. In June 2022, Viacom18, a TV and streaming group backed by billionaire industrialist Mukesh Ambani, paid $3 billion to win an online auction for two packages of digital rights to the men’s Ipl cricket. Disney, which held the TV and digital rights to Ipl for the past five seasons, won only the broadcast TV rights, but agreed to pay $3.01 billion for them.
The Women’s Premier League launched earlier this year and also proved to be enormously popular. The city-based team franchise rights were sold for $572 million and the media rights for $116 million.

Los Angeles, March 13 (Ians) Singer-actor Sofia Carson and 14-time Oscar-nominated songwriter Diane Warren performed their nominated song ‘Applause’ from the film ‘Tell It Like a Woman’ at the Academy Awards.
Carson urged the women of the world to “give themselves an applause” during the simple, stark performance of the ballad.
Carson wore a bejeweled gown over a bodysuit, as seen in silhouette in the spotlight at the Dolby Theatre, and walked over to the piano at song’s conclusion to embrace the much-decorated Warren, who accompanied the vocal performance in a white suit, reports Variety.
Prior to her collaboration with Warren, Carson starred in Disney’s ‘Descendants’ and contributed to the franchise’s three soundtracks. Since ‘Descendants’, she starred in the hit Netflix summer flick, ‘Purple Hearts’ and recorded eight original songs for the romance film.

The Oscar category of Best Original Song seems to have a concrete group of four tunes anticipated to be selected as nominees for Tuesday’s announcement. They include Golden Globe and Critics Choice Award winner “Naatu Naatu” from “Rrr” (M.M. Keeravani and Chandrabose), plus “Hold My Hand” from “Top Gun: Maverick”, “Lift Me Up” from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, and “Ciao Papa” from “Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio”. That leaves at least one spot potentially open for a surprise nominee. When predicting the song category, it is best to keep in mind that the music branch clearly has their favorites, and that usually tends to fill up a couple uncertain slots. This year, two of those songwriters may have a better shot at another Oscar nomination than most people think: perennial nominees Diane Warren for “Applause” from “Tell It Like A Woman,” and J. Ralph for “Dust & Ash” from the documentary...

Imagine a domineering father so dead set on messing with his two sons’ heads that he gives them both the same name. The ghost of one such dad haunts Rodrigo García’s “Raymond & Ray,” a tired, mild-mannered road trip drama that does the opposite of taking the path less traveled. Portraying the two Rays, stars Ethan Hawke and Ewan McGregor might have some audience pull once this Apple TV+ title settles into its streaming home. But in following the two leads’ emotionally messy characters as they half-heartedly embark on a mission to reconcile with their past, the film has little original to offer.
You’ll recognize the stock story as soon as Raymond (McGregor) pulls into Ray’s driveway one stormy night and stonily announces to his polar-opposite half-brother (Hawke), whom he hasn’t seen in years, “Our father is dead.” Yes, there will indeed be scores to settle from the past,...

The 14 Oscar nominations Alex North received for his film scores between 1952 and 1985 make him one of the most-recognized composers in academy history, but also one of the most overlooked, as all of his outings were unsuccessful. He did, however, earn the organization’s esteem in 1986 as the recipient of an honorary Oscar – the first given to an artist in his music field. Now, the academy’s board of governors have chosen to fill in another blank space by making Diane Warren the first songwriter on their list of honorary awardees. After 13 unfortunate Best Original Song losses, the time has finally come for the perennial contender to have her day in the sun.

As predicted, the “No Time to Die” song from the recent James Bond film of the same name has prevailed at the 2022 Oscars for Best Song. That means the sister-brother songwriting duo of Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell have added an Academy Award to their trophy collection for “No Time to Die,” to go along with their Critics Choice Award, Golden Globe and Gold Derby Award.
The other Best Song Oscar nominees this year were “Be Alive” from “King Richard” (Dixson and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter), “Dos Oruguitas” from “Encanto” (Lin-Manuel Miranda), “Down to Joy” from “Belfast” (Van Morrison) and “Somehow You Do” from “Four Good Days” (Diane Warren). Eilish and O’Connell accepted their prize during ABC’s ceremony on Sunday, March 27 — see the complete Oscars winners list.

Billie Eilish is the new Christopher Cross again. The singer, along with her brother and collaborator Finneas, won the Best Original Song Oscar on Sunday for the penning the title track to “No Time to Die,” and with that, Eilish has once again duplicated Cross’ unique resume: They are the only people who have achieved Grammy single-night sweep of the general four categories and to have won the Best Original Song Oscar.
Cross ruled the early ’80s, winning the Big Four Grammy categories — Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best New Artist — in 1981 for his eponymous debut album and his signature tune “Sailing.” Later that year, he earned another Billboard No. 1 with “Arthur’s Theme (Best That You Can Do)”, the title track from “Arthur.” Cross won the Best Original Song Oscar in March 1982, shared with co-writers Burt Bacharach, Carole Bayer Sager and Peter Allen.

Reba McEntire performed Diane Warren’s Oscar-nominated “Somehow You Do” from Four Good Days at the 94th Academy Awards on Sunday, March 27, marking an emotional moment for the singer. Four Good Days star Mila Kunis introduced McEntire’s performance. The Ukrainian actress spoke out in support of Ukraine and ensuing refugee crisis before McEntire came on stage. The country music star stood proudly as she sang the inspiring song. Travis Barker played the drums for the performance. Following her performance, the Oscars held a moment of silence in honor of Ukraine. McEntire’s Oscars 2022 appearance marked the first time she has performed at the ceremony since a deadly plane crash killed eight members of her touring family in 1991. The 66-year-old country star performed “I’m Checkin’ Out” from Postcards From the Edge at that year’s ceremony, just days after the crash. And while she persevered through the difficult week,...

Reba McEntire performed the Best Original Song nominee “Somehow You Do” at the 2022 Academy Awards. Written by Diane Warren, it’s an inspirational ballad of perseverance that appears in the film Four Good Days, a drama about a daughter trying to get sober with the reluctant help of her mother. “Somehow You Do” marks Warren’s fifth consecutive nomination for Best Original Song and 13th overall — she has yet to win.

Beyoncé opened the 2022 Oscars in grand fashion, starting the night off with a rousing performance of her Oscar-nominated song "Be Alive" from the movie "King Richard." Clad in what can only be described as tennis ball-green, Beyoncé belted out the song from the movie about Serena and Venus Williams and their father, Richard Williams.
Though Beyoncé wasn't actually in the building, she performed from somewhere meaningful: the Compton, CA, tennis court where the Williams sisters' story began. She was surrounded by tens of similarly dressed, all-women dancers for the performance, and one of those dancers looked awfully familiar. Twitter lit up with fans wondering if they actually caught Blue Ivy Carter performing with her mother front and center, and it absolutely was. The Oscars opened with a bang as Best Original Song nominee Beyoncé Knowles-Carter ushered in the annual event. The songstress was flanked by dancers on a tennis court for their representation of the film King Richard. Knowles-Carter performed her hit “Be Alive” from the film about Serena and Venus Williams‘ father for which Will Smith is also nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role. (Credit: Neilson Barnard/Getty Images) Continuing with the theme the artist donned the color resembling tennis balls in honor of the film’s theme. Knowles-Carter kicked off the evening’s slate of performances which include “Dos Oruguitas” from Encanto, “No Time To Die” from the James Bond film of the same name, and “Somehow You Do” from Four Good Days. The Oscars are here.
After going without a host for three consecutive years in a row, the 94th Academy Awards will be helmed by the trio of Wanda Sykes, Regina hall and Amy Schumer. History will be made since this is the first time the ceremony has ever been hosted by three women.
Several changes have been made to this year’s Oscars, including the introduction of a new award: the Fan-Favorite Award, which will be decided by a popular vote held on Twitter. This award aims to spotlight box office busing films that didn’t receive nods from the Academy like “No Time to Die” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”
The presentation of the awards will also differ, as eight categories will be taped before the start of the live broadcast, and the footage will be broken up throughout the broadcast.
Below, find all the details you need regarding how to watch the 2022 Oscars.

The biggest upset at the 94th Academy Awards had nothing to do with any of the nominated films competing for honors. It came roughly three hours into the telecast, when Will Smith stepped on stage and slapped Chris Rock after he made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith. It was a stunning unscripted moment that left viewers and the audience in the Dolby theater slack-jawed. Rock, looking stunned at what had just transpired on live television, pulled himself together and announced “Summer of Soul” as the winner of Best Documentary Feature.
Smith accepted his statuette for Best Actor shortly after the incident, during which he tearfully apologized to the Academy and his fellow nominees, but not Rock.
The rest of the evening played out very much as expected. “Dune” won six categories, the most of any of the nominated films: Sound, Editing, Score, Production Design, Best Cinematography and Visual Effects.

Updated: The Academy Award telecast held a moment of silence for “the people of Ukraine” during the telecast.
The moment followed a performance by Reba McEntire of nominated original song “Somehow You Do” from “Four Good Days,” which was introduced by one of the film’s stars, Mila Kunis — who was born in Ukraine. Kunis and her husband Ashton Kutcher have raised over $35 million for refugee relief in a GoFundMe campaign, $3 million of which they donated themselves.
“Recently, global events have left many of us feeling gutted,” Kunis said in her introduction. “Yet, when you witness the strength and dignity of those facing such devastation, it’s impossible to not be moved by their resilience. One cannot help but be in all of those who find strength to keep fighting through unimaginable darkness.”

After a long-haul awards season, the 94th annual Academy Awards are finally upon us. Hollywood’s biggest night will see Oscar statues doled out across 24 categories — though eight of those honors will, controversially, be handed out in the hour before the ceremony officially starts at 8 p.m. Pt.
Tonight will mark a moment of redemption for many of the most dogged Oscar campaigners, who’ve been on the awards circuit since the fall of 2021. The telecast this year features three hosts: Wanda Sykes, Regina Hall, and Amy Schumer.
Plus, they’re joined by a variety of musical guests including Beyonce (“King Richard”), Billie Eilish and Finneas (“No Time to Die”), Reba McEntire (“Four Good Days”), and Sebastián Yatra (“Encanto”), among other musical guests. Plus, the Academy has assembled an “all-star band” featuring the likes of blink-182 drummer and “The Kardashians” star Travis Barker, percussionist and singer Sheila E., and genre-spanning pianist Robert Glasper.

These nine new names are Josh Brolin, Jacob Elordi, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jason Momoa, Jill Scott, J.K. Simmons, Serena Williams, Venus Williams and Rachel Zegler. The songs in the running for the 2022 Best Original Song Oscar are “Down to Joy” (“Belfast”), “Dos Oruguitas” (“Encanto”), “Somehow You Do” (“Four Good Days”), “Be Alive” (“King Richard”), and “No Time to Die” (“No Time to Die”). Our current odds show that “No Time to Die” (82/25) is favored to win, followed in order by “Dos Oruguitas” (18/5), “Be Alive” (9/2), “Down to Joy” (9/2), and “Somehow You Do” (9/2).
Five of the seven individual songwriters included in this year’s lineup are first-time Oscar nominees, with Diane Warren (“Somehow You Do”) standing out as the only female veteran. All 12 of her past bids, beginning with one for “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” (“Mannequin”) in 1988, have been unsuccessful. Oscars producers Will Packer and Shayla Cowan announced on Thursday afternoon that Encanto cast members Adassa (who voiced Dolores), Stephanie Beatriz (Mirabel), Mauro Castillo (Felix), Carolina Gaitan (Pepa) and Diane Guerrero (Isabela) — along with Becky G and Luis “Despacito” Fonsi, for good measure — are set to perform “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” during Sunday’s telecast on ABC.
