Cold-Blooded Murder

Warning: Spoilers
One of the better series' episodes despite the dark theme with Dan and Walters again teaming to nab murderers, robbers, gun toting ex-cons, and an armed spouse all rolled into three ruthless individuals. The story line is familiar, ex-cons want to pull a cinch job, coax the lone ex-con gone straight to join them, he is reluctant, they make him comply through force. Then murder is added to the crime already committed, things heat up, people are held against their will, people get killed or arrested. The episode is worth watching more for the plot, the actions the bad and good guys take, than the acting. The two women have limited credits but were able to be convincing, the men were not much better, but pulled it off as the scoundrels they were, and Dan was near-perfect in his star portrayal, with Walters holding his own, too. The story gave us insight to the rural ways as merchants did not run to the bank everyday or week, the bank came to them with a courier service. Walters spotted the flaw when Al said Tom was additional help and Cathy was no there to greet him when he visited with Dan. The knot on Al's head must have come from being tripped by Tom when Sid had arrived and he was trying to tip Sid.

Delivers The Goods

Typical action filled episode. Two crooks and their moll use an ex-cell mate's gas station to set up robbery of a van carrying mucho money. The crooks are tough customers, even using the station owner's wife as a hostage. And even their blonde moll wields a nasty gun. So what's going to happen once the robbery occurs and Mathews and HP approach the station with the owner and wife under pointed guns. In short, it's sweaty time for fans of HP.

Note presence of future movie star Stuart Whitman as a patrolman. Also, could casting director have found a sweeter looking wife-hostage than Mary Hennessy, an innocent presence that helps drive the suspense. But please tell me how Crawford manages to see anything with what must be the narrowest squint in show biz-- check it out. Anyway, it's a fast moving 30-minutes with no drag time, plus on-location filming that apparently includes the house interiors. All in all, it's an enduring 50's cop show at its near best.

Exciting old TV show

Warning: Spoilers
What a delight to Watch these épisodes - more than 156 - short, fast paced with lots of action, good characters, sharp directing, good stories; even if most of them seem similar. Thieves and murderers on rampage, innocents on the run because accused of murders they had not committed, lost children, hit and run cases, feuds among families...

But I will never be tired of Broderick "Machine gun talking" Crawford. What a wonderful actor.

I don't think this TV show was aired in France.

I would put in on the same scale as STATE TROOPER.

This episode made by the vet Lew Landers.
