Eternal Solipsism
CutUncut202111 February 2021
The premise is not novel, but other recent low-budget productions in a similar vein have fared much better. The reasonably confident acting and technically proficient directing is compromised by the wafer-thin script (Teli's own) and a drastically narcissistic male viewpoint. One man, three women whose features correspond with classic western canons of beauty, all around the same age. The eternally plunking piano soundtrack attempts to orient and lend depth to a shallow storyline, and my guess is that Teli himself has a Yamaha plug-in with recording option and music editing software. This is university-level art-department stuff, an exercise in film-making, not a finished movie. The pretentious synopsis was likely written by the production studio. However, given his notable skills, I've a hunch that Teli will soon produce something of greater maturity.
