Stop making the cops act dumb
captainj-844147 November 2019
There are too many scenarios where the cops make dumb mistakes that a mediocre and in this case, Smart cops, wouldn't even make. I understand it creates tension, but, maybe come up with a more creative approach.

Not the Show I Know and Love, but Still Really Good
SourCandyOrNoCandy24 March 2022
I really, really liked this episode but it's just not the show I know and love. I prefer episodes with many different cases as opposed on one big one.

It was really cool to see Wesley in his element, even if it was at the expense of Nolan. That scene got me thinking about the inevitable scenario of him when Lopez is on the stand (unless that wouldn't be allowed because of their relationship). That would be suchhh an interesting situation.

I think I prefer Harper working on her own. I like her and Nolan's dynamic and I think I'll grow to love it even more, but seeing her work alone at the beginning was really nice.

Best part of the episode? Bradford cutting Chen some slack when Rachel told him the wedding situation. I don't think we've seen this nicer side of him since Isabel, so that was sweet. I also always like seeing Bradford and Rachel's relationship. I'm certain that something will happen between Bradford and Chen, but I'm lovinggg this relationship while it's happening. The whole wedding situation got me thinking that I hope nothing happens between them when Rachel is in the picture because that would be the most hypocritical thing.

Worst part of the episode? Again, I'm not a huge fan of the one-case episodes.

The Missile Attack
claudio_carvalho20 October 2021
Nolan has to go to the court of Judge Stevens to testify about a car accident caused by a drugged driver and Jessica comes to the audience to give support to him. Out of the blue, there is an alert warning of missile attack in LA bringing immediate chaos to the city. Sgt. Grey sends his officers and rookies to the streets to help the population while Nolan and Jessica have to control the situation in the court. Meanwhile Nyla Harper brings her daughter to the police department and has to face another problem.

"Fallout" is a good episode of "The Rookie" that has moments that recall "Miracle Mile" with the chaotic behavior of the population with the information of a missile attack. The explanation about the reasons for the downgrade of Nyla Harper is very satisfactory. My vote is eight.

Strong emotions
jharts74405 November 2019
This episode had me at the edge of my seat. Not because of the missile, I knew that was a false alarm. Heck it happened in Hawaii in January 2018 and wasn't found to be a false alarm for 38 mins and there was panic! People have complained that this episode was unrealistic. Ummm, no it wasn't! However, the exciting part of this episode was NOT the missile attack but rather the various responses to impending death on the characters. Great emotional responses and acting. I loved it. Don't listen to the naysayers. It was a great episode and I thank all the cast, crew, producers, writers and director.

A post-apocalypse look in a "What If" scenario
rajansuchitra12 November 2019
Loved the episode. It was a "What If" episode. If the world ended, then how would people react? So I really enjoyed seeing the different reactions of the characters.

Implausible scenario
mommyto419 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Ok, so Nolan has to testify for the first time as LAPD. Wesley is the attorney for the defense and he obliterates him during his cross examination. All the other Boots are out on patrol bc "it's over 100 degrees and tempers are short". However, when Nolan is testifying, Wesley shows him the alert on his phone and it says "Sunday, Nov 3", which was the date it aired on tv, but it's rarely that hot in SoCal in November.

Also, when Wesley is stabbed, he makes no sound. Doesn't warn anyone. Doesn't call out in pain. They have to look for him to find him. Yeah, I know he had lung damage, but you can still talk/yell/breathe with the opposite side; it'll just hurt like hell.

Oh, and Chen seeing the footsteps where to walk just by turning in her flashlight? Possible, but implausible. And they broke the window as they went out? She didn't break it first & then jump? That's a huge safety risk.

Courtroom date
andrewjllrar12 December 2019
Did you notice that the close up of phone screen shows that apparently court was being held on Sunday, November 3? Does LA have criminal court on Sonday morning?

Had to stew on it for a little...outcome, not even good
austinprettyman-461385 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Truly a crap written episode.

Potential spoilers.

There's a nuke coming for L.A., yet all the cops make it back to the station for a pep talk, that's one way to waste 15-20 minutes while chaos is reigning down. That wasnt even the worst part, the writing is forcing our favorite characters into situations where any normal person, especially a trained professional, would do everything different. And for what? A couple more seconds of freeze frame drama? Trash.

Once I finished the episode before this, I sat and wondered if what I had seen had added anything to the story. I decided, no. This episode, I feel like we have turned a 180 degrees and are steaming in the other direction.

Fingers crossed for what comes next, I'll have my grandma watch it with me since she loves soap operas.

Truly an act of desperation by writers
bryan-930-3373664 November 2019
Just over the top to the nth degree on a show that already pushes believability with its lack of concern for accuracy about policing. At least it was always entertaining without being too silly. That changed tonight. To its discredit. The subplots were good, including the moment we discover why Nolan's new T.O. Demoted herself but the main plotline was just stupidity personified.

Another overly dramatic episode...
ProBreaker7 March 2020
When i first started watching this show, i loved how simple it was. Not every call turned into a major thing as it would have on many other crime drama shows, but this season is really pushing it. A missile threat can happen sure, but this is the third time this season the writers made a "huge threat" episode, and it's getting too much. The sideplots of the episode were actually very good, but the whole "crisis looming" didn't really add anything, it just took away from the character development. There are plenty of interesting thing that can happen while on patrol, and i hope the writers go back to basics soon, otherwise what sets this show apart from every other in this genre is gonna be lost
