Diagnosing Annie Wilkes (2007)

*** (out of 4)

Forensic Psychologist Reid Melby is the focus of this eight-minute featurette that takes a look at the mental condition of Annie Wilkes from the 1990 film MISERY. He talks about various scenes in the movie and discusses the mental condition that is bothering the subject. He breaks down the mental disorder and explains what thoughts could be going through the person as well as how these thoughts might turn to violence. Fans of MISERY should enjoy this featurette as it really gives you a good idea of what was going on with the character on the screen. You do have to wonder if this type of stuff was discussed with Kathy Bates before taking the role so that she could prepare for it.
