Die Hard meets Bourne meets Macguyver
shuban13 February 2009
This episode shows how Micheal at his best innovative, cool under pressure and able to improvise at the last second.

There is a funny banter between Fiona and Sam as always, and almost a Carla from cheers moment from Fiona

Alex Carter can play slimy very well, but also shows a more noble side to his character. We see that Michael being smarter than him was no one off.

There is not as many hot bods here on display as in a usual Burn Notice episode.

What there is in 40 minutes an example of how to protect hostages the non die hard way.

Fighting Back Without Fighting

Michael Weston (Jeffrey Donovan) finds himself trapped in a bank which is being robbed by a vicious and well-organised group of thieves. If anyone resists, hostages will be shot - how can Michael sabotage the robbers without their realising...?

A supremely clever episode of a smart series that sees Michael use his spy-skills to confuse, bedevil and arrange a series of "accidents".

Humour is provided by sidekicks Sam and Fi (Bruce Campbell and Gabrielle Anwar) who are both wonderful as always. Bruce probably gets the best line when a girlfriend blows him off due to his "exciting" lifestyle and he smacks a bank-robber with a cry of "Ya ruined something special!"

If you haven't been "Burned" by this series yet, this could be the episode to do it.

Warning: Spoilers
"Bad Breaks" is a highly intense episode, complete with all the elements required to keep the viewers glued to their screens through the entire 40 minutes. The episode revolves around a bank heist with Michael and Bly being among the hostages.

Michael, being a pro, manages to keep his cool and takes on the robbers in a rather unusual manner.

While there may have been countless movies with the same theme, they mostly focus on action. The rescue team going in to save the hostages with all guns blazing and kind of stuff.

"Bad Breaks" takes a different path exactly at this point. Michael foils the heist from within and ultimately succeeds in breaking the bridge of trust between the members of the gang.It has more to do with criminal psychology and mind manipulation than bombs and guns. The episode is also interspersed with humor. The conversations between Sam and Fiona are rib-tickling. Sam's conversations with his new date over the phone also account for situational comedy.

All-in-all, this episode is a brilliant blend of action and comedy.

One of the best episodes of the series

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is one of my favorites in the whole series. Michael gets trapped in a bank robbery with former handler Bly and they will have to work together to save themselves, save the other hostages and prevent the heist from happening with some help from both Fi and Sam.

This one gives a new relationship dynamic between Bly and Mike as they now become at peace with each other after living something like that and relying upon each other.

Michael fights his way with intelligence rather than force, stealing whatever office supplies he can to save everyone. And he does. He even hides in the corner of desks to get his way.

I truly loved this one and to me it is TOP 5 in the whole series. I´m so glad to be rewatching Burn Notice.

I have really been enjoying this series. I wasn't sure about Michael at first. He kinda has a punchable face (haha) but this is a very entertaining show. (I love him now just to be clear).

The jobs are interesting and the chemistry between everyone is perfection. I particularly enjoyed this episode for the reason that another reviewer said. He outsmarted them without much gun power.

I dont know why I never heard of this show in the past but I'm glad I found it now. It's a show with the right balance of everything. I am glad there are 7 seasons to binge watch.

Highly recommend to anyone who is stuck at home for whatever reason.
