I'm mostly used to the kid friendly popular series "Ge Ge Ge no Kitaro" but this just chills me to the very bone.
This Kitaro is portrayed as a sinister looking anti-social anti-hero who travels the town with Medama Oyaji by his side, and Nezumi Otoko causing trouble now and then out of money and power.
Unlike the other series, Yokai aren't involved but ghosts are, then I noticed the series has surreal amounts of colorful backgrounds, gore, blood, and a creepy atmosphere that is true to the original manga before the "Ge Ge Ge' series was ever made.
I'm addicted to the opening of the series and it's opening song "Mononoke Dance" by Denki Groove, now if only I have the MP3.
The opening takes the panels from the original "Hakaba Kitaro' comics and animate it.
I notice Ryuk and Kitaro both end the first episodes of their shows with the line "Humans are interesting."
